We've Got A Construction UPDATE for Disney's Contemporary Resort

It seems like almost everything is under some kind of construction in Disney World. Three out of the four parks are getting new lands and expansions, while Disney World hotels are getting new lobbies and other upgrades.

Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, construction has been happening since 2024 and, after being delayed several times, is currently expected to last through 2027. Well, now, a new permit has been filed for more work at the hotel.

Disney has filed a new permit for general construction at the Contemporary, and lists Glazing Management & Consultants as the Contractor. This company specializes in structural glass design, curtain wall engineering, technical consulting, and more. So it seems like some kind of glasswork will be done soon at the hotel.

Currently, construction work is underway throughout Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower, which will last through 2027. The Bay Cove Pool, Cove Bar, water play area, and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower are also closed for refurbishment through May 2026. Bay Lake Tower has also received an upgrade to its rooms, so this permit could be for some glasswork at that location.

This means that if you are visiting the Contemporary during this time, you’re likely to see and hear construction during the day, so you’ll want to keep that in mind. Guests staying in Bay Lake Tower may not have pool access there, but they can still visit the Contemporary’s Feature Pool, water play area, and whirlpool spa.
