It’s hard to believe the day has finally come, but an extinction level event is happening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Today is the day that the rest of DinoLand U.S.A., including the DINOSAUR ride, is closing permanently.

We’re LIVE in Animal Kingdom to see fans turning out to say goodbye to the land and ride, and after we braved the crowds, all heading to “go get that dino” one last time, we met some super dedicated fans who even showed up in costumes. All of these costumes made us smile, so we have to share them with you.
First, we have to share this photo because a group got together, all dressed like Dr. Grant Seeker, to have a big photo taken in front of the ride. Dr. Seeker should be proud that he has so many fans!

But we also grabbed some photos of some other fans who turned up to say goodbye in costumes. That includes @dinolanddan on BlueSky, who showed up in an awesome outfit.

However, it was one detail of his outfit that really blew our minds. He had his own Dino Institute badge!

Then there’s the “Not Our Dino” from the ride, and we thought this costume was very clever. In case you hadn’t noticed, there are a lot of people in coats because it’s freezing in Animal Kingdom this morning.

We love seeing fans turn up and having so much fun on what is, at least, a little bit of a sad occasion. DinoLand U.S.A. officially closes forever tomorrow and will be converted into a new Tropical Americas-themed land, Pueblo Esperanza. The new land will feature the first EVER Encanto ride, as well as a new Indiana Jones ride (which we assume will be built over the bones of DINOSAUR, appropriately enough).

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates on Pueblo Esperanza, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.

We were in AK on Sunday around noon to ride Dinosaur, Flights of passage and Everest. All 3 were down; think it was the cold to be honest. We Had to catch a plane though, so we didn’t get to ride any. Sad to see Dino go, for sure!
