REVIEW: Disney Just Reinvented Steak Frites, and We’re Never Going Back

It’s pretty spectacular that Disney can take a dish that we’ve known and love for years and turn it into something else. We’ve seen this with snack-like cheeseburger spring rolls, but this time, we’re playing with steak frites. Yes, it’s still steak and fries, but it’s coming at you with the fries as the star (FINALLY!).

Steak Frites

These Steak Frites are $12.99 at The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs. It’s fried flank steak and French fries topped with chimichurri, Bearnaise sauce, sweet pepper drops, and grated Parmesan cheese. It’s still extra saucy fries like poutine with some awesome flavors.

The fries were the same fries as every poutine at The Daily Poutine, thick and crispy steak fries. We loved the steak – it’s a fried steak flank that had a tender bite and great flavor. The steak was so great that we wish there was even MORE because with the amount of fires, we were looking for more steak.

Steak Frites

The Bearnaise sauce had a strong garlic flavor and reminded us of a garlic aioli, which we really enjoyed.  The chimichurri had a great flavor and added lots of sauce to the fries. The fries seemed to be covered in a mountain of Parmesan cheese, but once we had dug in, it’s a great addition and not too overpowering.

There were only a few of the peppers in the bowl, but each of them brought a sweet, almost sugary taste that brought in a different flavor we weren’t expecting. If peppers aren’t your jam, these areas are easily avoidable, but it’s a nice addition that’s a bit different than the usual.

The Daily Poutine

We loved these Steak Frites! The flavor was great, and the portion size was so big it left us full. Get them from The Daily Poutine at Disney Springs’ Town Center. Follow AllEars for more Disney Springs food!
