MASSIVE REVIEW: Trying ALL the NEW Items at Disney’s Lunar New Year Festival 2026

Stay calm, it’s happening — the Lunar New Year celebration has kicked off in Disney California Adventure!

The Mickey-Shaped Hot Dog Bun is back this year!

It’s time to put on your stretchy pants and make your way around the park’s food booths and restaurants for some incredible limited-time eats. With over 35 new menu items and several returning favorites, what’s actually worth trying? We eat it all, so we found out, and we’re sharing our full reviews with you below!

Bamboo Blessings — 4/5

First up was the Five-Spice Popcorn Chicken with sweet chile-garlic sauce for $9.50. The chicken is crunchy, peppery, and moist, and paired with that sweet chile garlic sauce? We can’t get enough! It’s got a tiny kick to it, but the sweetness evens it out. Though if you’re spice-adverse, we recommend being cautious.

Five Spice Popcorn Chicken

You can also grab the Strawberry Milk Tea Macaron, which is made with strawberry buttercream with a milk tea center for $9. The strawberry buttercream genuinely tasted like strawberry; it didn’t have an artificial taste, which we really appreciated. The macaron itself has a crisp outer shell with a soft center, and the milk tea section in the middle has a jelly texture, but tastes just like milk tea. We loved the way the flavors balanced out each other!

Strawberry Milk Tea Macaron

To drink, we snagged the Guava Dragon Fruit Sparkler for $8.50, which is a non-alcoholic drink with Simply Lemonade, Topo Chico, and guava and dragon fruit syrups garnished with frozen dragon fruit. This was sweet and refreshing, and the cubes of dragon fruit are beautiful and extremely tasty. We recommend stirring it up to ensure you get all the flavors!

Guava Dragonfruit Sparkler

An alcoholic version, the Guava Dragon Fruit Vodka Cocktail, is also available for $19, which is made with Vodka, Simply Lemonade, Topo Chico, and guava and dragon fruit syrups, garnished with a lemon wheel. You can also grab the Brown Sugar Milk Tea for $7.75. It’s made with Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Tea, oat milk, and brown sugar, maple, and butter pecan syrups, garnished with banana milk-inspired whipped cream.

Longevity Noodle Co. — 4/5

The highlight item this year is the brand new Japchae Noodles with Kalbi short rib for $9.50. The Kalbi short rib has a sweet and savory flavor, similar to what you’d expect in a classic beef and broccoli dish. The beef was cooked perfectly, while the noodles were soft, and the veggies and mushrooms added a nice flavor to the mix. Our biggest note is actually an aesthetic note, as the noodles have a gelatinous look to them that may be a turnoff for some.

Japchae Noodles

There’s also the returning Garlic Noodles for $8.50. In theory, these long noodles tossed in zesty garlic butter with parmesan made our stomachs growl; in practice, the dish left a little to be desired. We found the noodles to be a bit dry and salty, while the overall flavor profile was dominated by the strong garlic flavor. Overall, the dish felt a bit overpriced for what amounted to some plain noodles topped with garlic and parmesan.

Garlic Noodles

The booth also offers the returning Strawberry Lychee Cocktail, made with bourbon, strawberry purée, lychee syrup, and lime juice, garnished with a lime gummy wedge, for $18.50. In the past, we’ve found this drink to be a little on the sweeter side!

Lucky 8 Lantern — 3/5

First up, we tried the Phở Dip for $9.75. It is served with rice noodles, sliced beef, shaved jalapenos, pickled onions, and phở broth. The bun was fresh, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The meat was tasty, and the combination of noodles and pickled onions tasted fresh. The jalapeños also added a bit of kick to this dish. The phở broth was also tasty, adding a great level of moisture to the dish. Although we also really enjoyed just eating it without the broth to really taste the fresh ingredients.

Phở Dip

We also grabbed the Chocolate Firecracker for $8. It features light chocolate mousse, a chocolate ganache filling, chocolate-almond dacquoise, popping candy, and DOVE Dark Chocolate. The mousse in the center was smooth and full of chocolate flavor. We thought the popping candy was such a fun element! Be careful, though, this dessert will stain your mouth red.

Chocolate Firecracker

To drink, we got the Red Envelope Margarita for $18.50. It is made with tequila, orange juice, sweet and sour, raspberry puree, blood orange syrup, and a gold shimmer. You mostly taste the orange juice and the sweet and sour in this drink, followed by some strong tequila. We didn’t taste much of the raspberry puree, but we still really enjoyed this drink! Plus, the gold shimmer looks so pretty.

Red Envelope Margarita

We also got the Yuja-Melon Cocktail for $18. It is made with gin, Lillet Blanc, yuja puree, and rock melon syrup, garnished with a purple orchid. You don’t taste the gin much in this drink; you mostly just get lots of fruity notes followed by a hint of floral. The flavors in this drink were a bit too overpowering for us, and we wish you could taste the gin more.

Yuja Melon Cocktail

Prosperity Bao & Buns — 5/5

This could be one of our favorite booths at the festival. First up, we picked up the returning Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao with pickled red onions and jalapeño for $9.25. It’s so fun to look at it with its bright colors, but it’s even better to eat. The flavors are a good combo of sweet and spicy, while the pickled onions add even more flavor and crunch.

Char Siu BBQ Pork Bun

The Kung Pao Bun is also a returning snack. It’s made with plant-based chicken, toasted peanuts, and scallions for $9. We would not have believed this was plant-based had we not known it. The “chicken” has such a good flavor, and then you’ve got the nuttiness from the peanuts (and that’s the big flavor here) plus the tanginess of the scallions.

Kung PAo Bun

You can grab four new beers here, too: Brewery X, Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer for $15.25, the Coronado Brewing Co., Nado Premium Rice Lager for $17, Harland Brewing Co., Lucky Horse for $18.50, and Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange for $18.50. We grabbed the flight with four of them.

Beer Flight

The Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer had a wonderful grapefruit flavor, with very little flavor coming from the alcohol. The Rice Lager was a typical lager with a simple, yet refreshing taste. The Photo Nuclear Orange, though, became an immediate favorite because it basically tastes like a creamy orange creamsicle. Finally, the Lucky Horse was both fruity and hoppy.

Red Dragon Spice Traders — 3.5/5

The first thing we grabbed was the Spicy Chicken Wings with sesame seaweed crunch for $9.00. It’s a snack we’ve enjoyed in the past! The chicken was crunchy, peppery, and moist. The wings do have a bit of a kick, but it’s a great option for a super light lunch or a solid snack.

Spicy Chicken Wings

Another returning bite is the Mandarin Orange Cream Puff filled with citrus cream and Mandarin compote for $9.00. We LOVED this one. It had this crispy topping, and it was baked on a soft cream puff with a fruity filling. Interestingly enough, the mandarin compote had a baby food-like consistency to it. It tasted super fresh. The citrus cream has a thicker consistency than the compote and is super smooth.

Mandarin Orange Cream Puff

To drink, the Honeydew Colada is brand-new. It’s made with Rum, melon liqueur, honeydew cream, coconut cream, and sweet and sour, topped with a slushy made with DOLE Whip Pineapple for $18.50. We’re thinking you need to be a fan of honeydew to enjoy this one, because the honeydew is very sweet and very strong. The coconut cream cuts the sweetness a little bit, but not enough to not feel like the drink is super sweet. We really loved the slushy-like consistency. If you stir it well, the sweetness evens out a bit, making it a little more tolerable.

Honeydew Colada

We grabbed the Soju Cocktail Flight for $19.50. It comes with the Peach Yogurt Soju Cocktail, Mango Soju Cocktail, and Green Apple Soju Cocktail.

The Mango Soju Cocktail is new, and it’s made with Soju, Sprite, mango purée, and sweet and sour. This is a dangerous drink. It was very sweet and fresh, which resulted in barely being able to taste any alcohol.

Mango

The Peach Yogurt Soju Cocktail is made with Soju, Sprite, white peach syrup, and yogurt. We were a little thrown off by the drink’s white color, but the flavor was really nice. You could taste the hints of peach and Sprite. Just like the other drink, this one was dangerous with how easy it went down!

Peach

Lastly, we got to try the new Green Apple Soju Cocktail with Soju, grapefruit liqueur, green apple syrup, and sweet and sour. There’s not much to say with this one other than it tastes like an apple Jolly Rancher. You can grab all three drinks separately as well!

Green Apple

Wrapped With Love — 3/5

There are only three options at the Wrapped with Love booth in 2026! To eat, we grabbed the Quesabirria Eggroll with guajillo pepper consommé for $9.50. In the past, we have loved this unique take on the classic snack, but this year’s version fell flat. The filling was where we found this one lacking. The meat wasn’t as flavorful as it had been in the past, and we would have liked a little more cheese in it. The consome was a huge help and added tons of flavor. Plus, the egg roll wrapping was crispy and not greasy. We’re hoping this one was just a first-day jitters issue!

Quesabirria Eggroll

We also tried the Cold Brew Cocktail for $19.50. It’s made with bourbon, Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Vietnamese-style Coffee, cocoa powder, and condensed milk, garnished with taro chocolate sweet cream and a chocolate wafer stick. We loved this option as coffee fans! The main flavor profile was coffee, and there was a nice, earthy, sweet flavor thanks to the Taro cream. The bourbon wasn’t too strong, but it did sink to the bottom, so be sure to mix it before taking a sip.

Cold Brew Cocktail

If you want to skip the bourbon, you can get the nonalcoholic version of this drink for $7.75.

Churros at Hollywood Land — 4/5

The new Feng Li Su Churro is $7.50 and is a churro rolled in shortbread sugar, topped with pineapple jelly and cherry-flavored popping pearls. It’s basically a take on Taiwanese pineapple cake and really has a wonderful pineapple flavor, which melds with the cherry pearls. The churro is dusted with shortbread sugar, which has a denser texture than what we’re used to, but it adds a nice flavor.

Feng Li Su Churro

Schmoozies! — 4/5

The new Hotteok-Inspired Mickey Shaped Waffles are red batter waffles with brown sugar and cinnamon custard, yellow whipped topping, and sprinkles for $11.29. We didn’t really think the yellow whipped topping was necessary, and it stained our hands.

Hotteok Inspired Mickey Waffles

However, these are the Mickey waffles you know and love, just dyed red. But they pair so great with the brown sugar and cinnamon custard, which is the best part of this treat.

Inside

Studio Catering Co. — 2/5

The Tteokbokki is a new festival dish made of rice cakes with gochujang sauce topped with cheese, sesame seeds, and green onions. For $8.29. The sauce on the rice cakes is spicy and flavorful, but the rice cakes are off-putting with their doughy texture, although we’re under the impression that’s how they’re supposed to be in this dish. Others may be okay with that texture, though.

Tteobokki

Pym Test Kitchen — 3/5

You can grab the Spicy Pork Belly Grilled Cheese at Pym Test Kitchen for $15.49. It’s made with pork belly marinated in Korean spices with white American cheese, spicy aïoli, pickled onions, sourdough bread, and green onion crust served with potato bites. If you’re averse to spice, STAY AWAY. This baby has a lot of kick, but it’s also got a lot of flavor.

Spicy Pork Belly Grilled Cheese

The bread texture is also good and doesn’t turn into a soggy mess, even with all that sauce. We also liked the pickled onion and cucumber salad with its crunchiness and tanginess. It’s not the best grilled cheese in Disneyland, but it’s still tasty.

YUM

Cozy Cone Motel — 4/5

We grabbed the Crispy Chicken Bao for $9.29, which is made with fried chicken coated in sweet chile sauce with cucumbers, carrots, and sesame seeds, served in a soft bao bun. This fish wasn’t overly filling, but it was packed with flavors. The vegetables were fresh and refreshing, and mixed well with the sweet and spicy chicken, which was crispy. The sauce had a kick but wasn’t too hot and was a bit sweeter than spicy. The bun was fluffy and sweet, too.

Crispy Chicken Bao

Aunt Cass Café — 4/5

One thing you’ll want to do is pick up the new Year of the Horse Bread for $14.49. It’s Boudin bread shaped like a horse, and it’s one of the plant-based offerings this year. If you love sourdough, it’s a must.

Year of the Horse Bread

You can also get the Strawberry Green Tea Bread Pudding for $8.49, made with strawberry and green tea-layered bread pudding with green tea crème anglaise and whipped topping. It’s currently available with the Sip and Savor Pass through February 22nd, but it’s sticking around through March 5th. The strawberry flavor really comes through with just a mild green tea flavor behind it, along with a touch of floral notes. The bread pudding is served warm, so it’s ooey and gooey, and oh, so delicious.

Strawberry Green Tea Bread Pudding

To drink, Aunt Cass Cafe is offering the Almond Cold Brew for $7.29. It’s an almond cold brew with orange cold foam. It’s also available through March 5th. Now, we couldn’t taste the almond flavor at all, but half the drink is the orange cold foam, and we loved the creamsicle-like flavor it added. At the end of each sip, you also get that mild, slightly bitter coffee taste.

Almond Cold Brew

Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta — 5/5

The Korean Pork Belly Pizza is made with roasted soy-glazed pork belly with kimchi cucumber, mozzarella, yellow corn, sesame seeds, and kimchi marinara. You can either get a slice of it or get a whole pizza (for an additional price). It’s got all these flavors: sweet, savory, and cheesy, and they all meld together so well. There isn’t any heat, so you don’t have to worry about that. The pork belly is tender, and you get a lot of it. We also liked the sweetness added by the corn.

Korean Pork Belly Pizza

You also want to be sure to try the Pandan Cheesecake for $7.79. It’s a new treat made with Pandan-flavored cheesecake, brown butter graham crust, coconut whipped topping, and strawberry jam. Pandan is sort of like a vanilla flavor, so that, plus the coconut, is what really comes through while you’re eating it. The crust adds a nice cinnamon and sugar flavor to it, too.

Pandan Cheesecake

Paradise Garden Grill — 3/5

The new Lemongrass Pork Skewers are made with grilled lemongrass-marinated pork belly skewers served with fried garlic rice, pickled carrots and daikon radish, and a side salad for $18.49. You’ve got this rich, fatty, and tender pork, and overall, this is a hefty snack that could fill you up. We didn’t get any citrus flavor from the lemongrass, though.

Lemongrass Pork Skewer

The new Vietnamese Coffee Roulade is made with coffee sponge, Vietnamese coffee mousse, coffee cookie crumble, and sweetened condensed milk whipped cream, which you can snag for $7.29. It’s nothing really special, but the chocolate and coffee make for a nice flavor combo. The whipped cream adds a creamy texture, as well as vanilla flavor.

Vietnamese Coffee Roulade

However, we liked the Strawberry-Lychee Cocktail with bourbon, strawberry purée, lychee syrup, and lime juice, garnished with a skewered lime gummy for $17.25. It’s so refreshing and easy to drink because you can’t really taste the alcohol. The most forward flavor is the strawberry, with a hint of floral from the lychee.

Strawberry Lychee Cocktail

Smokejumpers Grill — 5/5

Here, we grabbed the Bulgogi Fries for $8.99, which are fries with marinated bulgogi beef, kimchi cucumber, mozzarella cheese, and gochujang aioli topped with sesame seeds and green onions. These totally exceeded our expectations! The flavors were incredible, and the beef was cooked perfectly. The sauce wasn’t overly spicy and offered the right amount of heat without being overwhelming, and the vegetables were crisp. That cheese? The greatest addition! It was filling for the price and a great option to grab during the festival.

Bulgogi Fries

Select Outdoor Vending Carts — 5/5

The Mickey-Shaped Hot Dog Bun is $9 and is a returning treat made with classic milk bread with hot dogs, hoisin glaze, parmesan, green onion, and sesame seeds. The milk bread has a light, almost vanilla flavor, but the hoisin adds additional sweetness, as well as saltiness. The hot dog pieces are nice and meaty. The description says it has parmesan, but we couldn’t taste it.
