This EPCOT Pavilion Is ALWAYS Crowded, And We Think We Know Why

EPCOT’s France Pavilion consistently draws in LARGE crowds, often some of the largest in the whole World Showcase, with many coming for very specific — and delicious — reasons.

France Pavilion Crowds

Over my 30 years of visiting EPCOT, France has long been one of my favorite countries in the World Showcase thanks to its intricately detailed recreation of the City of Lights. In recent years, the area has gotten even more crowded thanks to a popular attraction, access to guest favorite transportation, and some delicious eats.

One of the French Pavilion’s major draws is Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, a quick-service dining restaurant located near the Impressions de France/Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along exit.

The traditional French bakery offers a litany of “tempting delicacies” including soups and salads, sandwiches served on fresh baguettes, and a large assortment of pastries, along with wine, champagne, beer, and gourmet coffees.

In fact, Les Halles offers two of our FAVORITE bites at EPCOT. First off, there’s the Jambon Beurre. This $10.95 sandwich may initially seem simple — it’s ham and cheese topped with Dijon Mustard on a demi baguette — but it is DELICIOUS, and its saltiness really hits the spot in the middle of an EPCOT day.

Plus, it might be the best roughly $10 lunch you can get anywhere in Walt Disney World.

Next up, there’s actually a new offering we’re big fans of: The Croiss Oh La La. This MASSIVE croissant costs $13.94, but the giant size (and the fact that it’s nearly half-covered in solidified milk chocolate) make it more than worth it.

We’d especially recommend taking it outside for a moment or two to let the chocolate melt just a bit, turning the dish into a gooey (if messy) treat. One word of warning, though: They sell fast, and can sometimes be hard to get a hold of.

However, thanks to that menu, the restaurant is SUPER popular, and in turn often quite crowded, especially during breakfast hours. The best way to try and avoid these crowds? Rope drop the restaurant.

Seriously.

If you’re arriving to EPCOT via the Skyliner and want to ensure you have a delicious French breakfast from Les Halles, head there FIRST.

Les Halles lines

Speaking of the International Gateway Skyliner entrance, this close access to the transportation method is another major draw of the France Pavilion.

EPCOT Skyliner Station

As is, of course, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the popular Pixar-based attraction that has been one of EPCOT’s busiest since it opened earlier this decade. The ride is probably about to get even busier, as an upcoming refurbishment will move the ride from 2D to 3D and eliminate the need for glasses, which was one of the main complaints about the ride.

Finally, rounding back to food, the French festival booths during events like the Food & Wine Festival draw massive crowds and lines to the pavilion.

Uhhh…YIKES

Thanks to some delicious food — plus a newly refurbished version of one of EPCOT’s most popular modern attractions — the France Pavilion seems guaranteed to be one of the World Showcase’s most crowded for a long time.
