REVIEW: Peanut Butter Snickers Pie and Duck Nachos?! We’re Still Drooling Over This Disney World Restaurant.

One of our favorite things about Disney World is that there is no shortage of dining options! You can find something for just about anyone for any occasion, and while having lots of options can be wonderful, it can also feel overwhelming. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Disney Springs

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by City Works Eatery & Pour House at Disney Springs and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

City Works Eatery & Pour House is located on the West Side of Disney Springs. It is right across from the Cirque du Soleil: Drawn to Life theater and House of Blues. Disney Springs isn’t the only place you can find a City Works Eatery & Pour House, though! The restaurant has seven locations across the United States, including Watertown, MA; Pittsburgh, PA; King of Prussia, PA; Schaumburg, IL; Vernon Hills, IL; and Fort Worth, TX. So even if you aren’t heading to Disney World soon, you might still be able to dine at a City Works Eatery & Pour House near you!

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

City Works Eatery & Pour House serves classic American food with chef-driven twists that you can enjoy with an extensive selection of craft beers. The restaurant itself in Disney Springs is generally lively (especially when big sports games are happening), with a casual and laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant features numerous TV screens, allowing you to catch your favorite game while enjoying a meal and a beer.

Lots of TVs!

You can choose from indoor, outdoor, or bar seating. The restaurant offers multiple bar seating options, allowing you to choose your favorite area! There are also indoor tables, and if the weather is nice, you can enjoy their outdoor patio seating.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food

We started with the Duck Nachos for $21.95. These are made with pulled confit duck, pepper jack cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, smoked tomatoes, red onion, white beans, avocado, micro cilantro, queso fresco, and wonton chips.

Duck Nachos

These are one of our favorites here, and we still enjoyed them this time around! The wonton chips are super crispy and airy — the perfect vessel for getting the toppings into your mouth. The pepper jack cheese sauce was creamy with a bit of heat. We wish it were a bit thicker, but it was still cheesy and delicious!

Duck Nachos

The pickled jalapeños added a good amount of spice to the dish, and we also enjoyed the freshness and acidity added by the red onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. But that is not all! There are also white beans and avocado on top, which helped make this dish extra hearty. We felt the duck was a bit dry on this dish, but the other toppings helped somewhat. This dish is a bit pricey, but we really enjoyed it!

For our meal, we chose the Smokehouse Combo with Three Meats for $33.95. You can choose from chicken wings, hot link, pulled pork, pulled chicken, or 1/4 smoked BBQ ribs for an extra $1. You also get to choose two sides from the following: coleslaw, French fries, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, or spicy maple bacon baked beans. We got the chicken wings, hot link, and pulled pork for our meats. For the sides, we got mashed potatoes and spicy maple bacon baked beans.

Smokehouse Combo

There is a lot on this plate! Perfect for when you are especially hungry or want to share something. We thought a lot of the meats were a bit on the dry side, but luckily, this dish also comes with SAUCES! The sauce options are Classic BBQ, Mustard BBQ, Mango Habanero, and Spicy Chipotle BBQ. We requested all of them so we could give them a try. These sauces definitely take all the meats to the next level!

Lots of sauces!

Let’s start off with the meats. The hot link was our favorite because it had a good snap and a bit of juiciness. The meat was well-flavored and had a hint of spice.

Hot Link

The pulled pork was on the dry side, so be sure to dip it into the sauces! There is a bit of smokiness to the meat, which adds some good flavor. The chicken wings had a very smoky flavor on the outside. Some parts were nice and juicy, but others were a bit dry. Just like the pulled pork, you will likely want to add some sauce!

Pulled Pork

Moving on to the sauces! These were the stars of the plate. The Classic BBQ was sweet and smoky. The Mustard BBQ was a spiced mustard. It had a bit of sweetness, but it is definitely heavy on the mustard flavor.

Try the sauces!

Mango Habanero was our favorite. It was sweet with a bit of kick to it. It starts with the sweetness of the mango, and then the habanero sneaks in at the end. Finally, the Spicy Chipotle BBQ tasted very similar to the Classic BBQ, but with a bit more heat to it.

Yum!

You also get two sides with the meal. We chose the mashed potatoes and spicy maple bacon baked beans. The mashed potatoes were fluffy with lots of buttery flavor. These were classic mashed potatoes without lots of additions, which we think was perfect for this platter.

Mashed Potatoes

The baked beans were yummy! They are on the sweeter side, with a hint of spice. If you like baked beans, these are baked beans taken to the next level. The sauce is sticky and flavorful, with a decent amount of smokiness. Plus, with the addition of the bacon, you are in for a treat!

Spicy Maple Bacon Baked Beans

For dessert, we got the Peanut Butter Snickers Pie for $11.95. It is made with an Oreo cookie crust, peanut butter mousse, Snickers, whipped cream, caramel, and chocolate sauce.

Peanut Butter Snickers Pie

Not only did this dessert look pretty, but it also tasted great! The peanut butter mousse was on top of a crumbly Oreo crust. The mousse was more similar to a thicker cheesecake filling. It was full of peanut butter flavor, and we loved the pairing of the Oreo crust, peanut butter mousse, Snickers pieces, and whipped cream.

Peanut Butter Snickers Pie

Then add in the caramel and chocolate sauce, and it was absolutely delicious! It might look a bit on the smaller side, but it was pretty rich, and it could easily be shared. Although you might not want to share!

Overall, we had a satisfying meal at City Works. The Duck Nachos and Peanut Butter Snickers Pie were stand-outs. We weren’t as impressed with the Smokehouse Combo, so we’ll likely try something else on our next trip. The restaurant has a casual vibe, making it the perfect spot to catch a game during your Disney World vacation or grab a beer.
