REVIEW: You Can Create Your Own DOLE Whip Sundae at This Hotel in Disney World

Some Disney World hotels have amazing quick service restaurants, and some have options that are more lackluster.

Fuel!

It’s important to know what’s available before you choose your hotel, so you have a good idea of your dining options, no matter the time of day! And if you’re staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, there’s one pretty unique quick service spot we stopped by to do a FULL review.

Background

We’re heading to Fuel at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and taking you along with us! This quick service spot is located on the second floor of the hotel.

Let’s check it out!

It’s a sort of combination of a quick service restaurant, convenience store, and coffee shop, with a WIDE variety of food and drink options available for purchase.

So many options!

It’s also home to its very own frozen yogurt bar, which is a super unique offering in Disney World!

Yum!

Let’s take a deeper look inside!

Atmosphere

You’ll find Fuel on the second floor of the Dolphin building. If you come in the back entrance from the BoardWalk, Friendship Boats, or the Swan, you’ll need to go up the escalator. If you come in the front door, you’ll enter directly into the second-floor lobby, where the restaurant is found in the corner.

Fuel!

The first section of Fuel is the convenience store-like area where you can pick up prepackaged snacks and drinks. They have a wide variety of options, including sandwiches, chips, bottled sodas, and more.

Convenience Store section

If you’re looking to order something fresh, you can get in line at the counter. Here they serve specialty coffee options, sandwiches, pastries, pizza, and more.

Over on the side is the frozen yogurt bar, where you can pick up five different flavors of frozen yogurt and one classic Pineapple Dole Whip flavor.

Don’t forget your toppings!

And finally, there’s a small seating area for you to sit and enjoy your meal.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First up, we grabbed the French Connection for $14, which is made with shaved ham, fresh chevre, and fig jam on a croissant.

French Connection

This has a TON of ham in it, which we loved, but there was a pretty thin layer of cheese in comparison. However, since it’s goat cheese, we didn’t mind the thinner layer since the flavor is stronger. The jam adds some delicious sweetness, but it does make the sandwich a little messy, so grab some napkins!

So much ham!

We also had to try out the Frozen Yogurt and Dole Whip station!  The six flavors available here are Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, New York Cheesecake, Caramel Corn, and Pineapple Dole Whip. You can pick 1-2 flavors, and there are 10 different toppings to choose from. We chose to get New York Cheesecake and Pineapple Dole Whip with sprinkles and nuts on top.

Our creation!

This created an almost tropical cheesecake flavor, which we were big fans of. The Dole Whip was regular Dole Whip, but we do feel it wasn’t as creamy as it could have been. Thankfully, the frozen yogurt more than made up for that!

Yum!

Finally, we grabbed the Iced Caramel Chai Latte for $7.55. This had a great flavor ONCE we mixed it up — before we did, all the flavor was at the bottom, and it was flavorless and watered down.

Iced Caramel Chai Latte

This wasn’t the best chai we’ve had on property, and we’d actually still prefer to go to Joffrey’s instead, but this was a solid drink if you’re not near any other spot!

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You need a quick snack
  • You’re staying at the Swan and Dolphin and are close by
  • You love menus with a large variety of options

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You’re looking for multiple full meals, not just snacks and drinks

Overall, we love this spot and think it’s a great spot to grab anything you could need, but we don’t think it’s worth a trip all the way over if you’re not nearby already.

It’s a great grab and go spot!
