Choosing what or where to eat at Disneyland can seem like an impossible task. Luckily, we’re here to help!

We know the ins and outs of EVERY Disneyland Resort restaurant, and our experiences have influenced where we suggest you should visit and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Sonoma Terrace at Disney California Adventure and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
Themed after Sonoma, California — a city in Northern California’s famous Wine Country — Sonoma Terrace is an outdoor lounge located right next to Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure’s Performance Corridor.

Aptly named, this is a spot for adults looking to grab a simple cocktail, glass of wine, or a beer while they kick back and relax during a busy park day.
Atmosphere
This mature and hidden area in the park offers plenty of shade and seating.

You’ll find tables lined up under the roof, high-top tables next to the main pathway, two-person tables near Wine Country, and couches and chairs with soft padding and coffee tables, and more seating along the entrance.

This Californian-inspired area is loved for its relaxed vibes, featuring an atmosphere akin to a winery that plays guitar music in the background. It really takes you out of the hustle and bustle of the theme park setting, and that’s certainly a positive.

While the atmosphere is awesome, what really matters is the food and beverages…
Food & Drinks
This lounge isn’t known for its food. In fact, you can only get one item: A Bavarian Pretzel for $8.25. You can also add on a Cheese Cup side for an additional $1.50, as well.

The pretzel was pretty good! A reliably tasty snack, we really enjoyed how shareable it was, and that it tasted pretty fresh. Ours could’ve used more salt, but that’s a minor complaint.

The Cheese Cup was pretty much just plastic cheese, so if you already know you don’t like this divisive add-on, you’ll want to skip it. When you dip the pretzel in this cheese, it will dominate the flavor profile.

Overall, you can’t go wrong with this snack! The price is pretty fair, especially if you’re sharing.

To drink, we picked up the Pineapple Passion for $17.50. This cocktail is made with white rum with flavors of pineapple and passionfruit.

This drink is pre-made and poured into a cup from a bottle. It was thicker in texture than we expected, but in a good way — sort of like a piña colada mix texture without being frozen. It was fruit-heavy, but the passionfruit overpowered the pineapple. It was good, but probably overpriced.

We also tried the Craftwell Hibiscus Lemonade for $15. This drink offers flavors of hibiscus and lemons (ABV 10.5%).

Another pre-made drink poured into a cup from a can, this hibiscus lemonade featured a mostly hibiscus flavor. There’s a bit of carbonation not unlike a seltzer, and it was refreshing…but it wasn’t all too special.

We liked the Pineapple Passion more, and while there’s nothing inherently wrong with this lemonade, it’s probably overpriced — especially when comparing it to other hibiscus cocktails you might find throughout the park at any given time.
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney California Adventure lounge is a must-visit if…
- YOU NEED TO REST. It’s peaceful, offering a relaxing getaway just steps from all the action of DCA.
- THE PRETZEL CRAVING IS REAL. The Bavarian Pretzel, in our opinion, is one of the better pretzel offerings in all of DCA.
- YOU’RE LOOKING FOR BEER AND WINE. While the cocktails weren’t all that impressive, this lounge does have an extensive beer and wine list that may appease most folks looking for either.
You should skip this lounge if…
- YOU NEED THE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE. There are no entrees here, and the snack list is as limited as it gets. Next door’s Wine Country Trattoria offers a more complete experience.
- THERE’S INCLEMENT WEATHER. While it is shaded, not much will protect you at this outdoor lounge. Opt for an indoor restaurant if the weather stinks.
- YOU PRIORITIZE COCKTAILS OVER BEER AND WINE. The cocktails here are fine, but DCA is known for its drinks — and there are better ones at places like Carthy Circle Lounge.
Sonoma Terrace probably won’t blow you away with its food and beverage offerings, but they are still solid and will hit the spot if you’re not feeling picky. Additionally, this lounge offers one of the best atmospheres in Disney California Adventure, making it worth the visit even if it’s only to rest for a few minutes.
