NEW Permits Filed for Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom Restaurants

Disney World is going through some serious changes and we’re pretty darn excited about them!

DinoLand, U.S.A.

The Animal Kingdom retheme of DinoLand, U.S.A. into the new Tropical Americas land is already in progress, and the Villains Land and Cars area rethemes at Magic Kingdom are in progress, too. While those changes might be a ways away, we spotted some new permits that might mean more work is on the way.

We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits Disney has filed to get an idea of what projects might be on the horizon around the parks and more! We search for Notices of Commencement to find out what sort of work might be going on. Let’s take a look at what we found this time around!

Over at Animal Kingdom, a new permit was filed for Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A. But don’t worry just yet — it doesn’t appear to spell the end of this restaurant just yet. The description is listed as electrical work, so it doesn’t sound like anything too drastic will be happening just yet, though this restaurant will be closing within the relatively near future. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date, but we’ll let you know when they do!

Making our way over to Magic Kingdom, we spotted a new permit for “it’s a small world.” It’s for general construction, which means it could really be for anything. The ride is slated to get a change in the form of new lyrics, but it’s unclear if this permit is related.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe had a new permit pulled on it — but it likely won’t impact your trip. Some electrical work needs to be done here!

Over in Tomorrowland, a new permit was filed for Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Like the Pecos Bill permit, we don’t expect this work to impact your visit. The description of the permit is for mechanical work, so likely nothing too major.
