Some BIG changes are coming to a fan-favorite Disney World resort!

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds offers a unique Disney World lodging experience, allowing guests to CAMP along Bay Lake. This one-of-a-kind Disney lodging features cabins and campgrounds for accommodations, a variety of recreational activities (such as horseback riding, archery, and more), and several restaurants, including Trail’s End and Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue. With already plenty to do here, Disney recently announced that an established offering is about to EXPAND in size!
When you stay at an outdoorsy resort like Fort Wilderness, chances are you’re expecting to engage in some pretty outdoorsy activities! We already brought up a few offered at this resort, but one of the most common activities (especially during the warmer months) is swimming!

Fans of Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at the resort are in for a treat, as it was revealed recently that the entire pool area is about to be expanded “to make room for even more fun and relaxation.”

The expansion will include a brand-new zero-entry pool and deck area that will be installed alongside the existing pool. The expanded area will also include a tennis court and two pickleball courts.
Disney teases that the expansion will double the entire pool space in size.

A lot is happening at the Fort Wilderness and Bay Lake area these days. The nearby Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge — a Disney Vacation Club resort — is currently being built and will be yet another offering for potential Disney World guests. Details are still rolling in regarding this new resort, but Disney has announced that it will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Concept art released by Disney revealed characters like Bambi, Thumper, and Flower incorporated into the theming.
