CONFIRMED: California Grill Announces Return of 4 Popular Menu Items in Disney World

Food is a massive part of Disney World! Disney is always adding new menu items or bringing old things back. You know we’re always here for everything that Disney has to offer when it comes to dining.

We have some exciting news! Disney has a special anniversary happening for a popular restaurant, and there’s a surprise coming for it — or should we say, coming BACK for it.

If you haven’t heard, the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is celebrating its 30th anniversary! In honor of the big milestone, the restaurant is making some menu changes that we’re super excited about. 

The birthday celebration is a big deal for this popular dining destination, because there’s some rich history behind this restaurant. California Grill was actually the first signature dining experience at Disney World.  If you’ve ever been to this spot, you’re well aware of its spectacular fine dining.

Like all things, when you’re 30 years old, you’re bound to go through some changes. However, the one constant has been the love poured into the restaurant by its Cast Members!

Ray, one of the Cast Members from the restaurant’s opening day, stated, “That opening team was really special, everyone brought a different talent and was constantly learning for each other”. Ray’s legacy was permanently left at the California Grill, as he was the creator of a popular cocktail called the Monterey. It was a drink made with “[flavors of vanilla, pineapple] and lemonade made from scratch”.

Well, guess what? Disney just announced that the famous signature cocktail is coming back! It will be featured on the new limited-time anniversary menu. So you’re going to get to try a piece of history, Disney fans!

Wait, so a new limited-time menu is coming for the anniversary? Well, we went to confirm with a Cast Member, and that is indeed true. In fact, there are going to be many items returning. If you look for items marked with a ’30’ on the menu, you’ll find the limited-time offerings. Here are some food items confirmed to be coming back:

• Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli
• Grilled Pork Tenderloin
• Blueberry-Goat Cheese Cheesecake
• The Monterey (Ray’s signature cocktail)
• AND MORE!

The limited-time menu will be available through May 2026!

Of course, we’ve had the opportunity to visit California Grill, and it’s one of our go-tos for a reason. The food has always had excellent quality and flavor. The fine dining experience at this location is truly top-notch. It is quite pricey, and it may not be for everyone, but we’d suggest trying it at least once.

If you needed more of a reason to go visit this location, then you’ll be happy to hear about the Contemporary’s fireworks viewing. You can actually catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from here! You’ll have an excellent view of the show, and they play the full audio through a speaker located on the deck.
