Disney DELAYS Refurbishment of Iconic Attraction

The Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration is right around the corner, and Disney is working on getting Disneyland in tip-top shape.

To get the park ready, many attractions are undergoing refurbishment so they’re prepared for all the guests flocking to the park to celebrate. We keep track of all the refurbishments happening, but a fan-favorite ride’s refurbishment just got rescheduled!

The Matterhorn Bobsleds will now be closing on May 5th with no anticipated reopening date. The Disneyland calendar only goes up to June 9th right now, so we’re not quite sure how long they plan to keep this attraction closed.

It was initially scheduled for April 28th, but is now being pushed back a week. Why is it being pushed back? We have no idea, but we’ll keep our eye on it to see what updates Disney gives us.

There are a few other rides that are closed or are about to be closed at Disneyland:

• • Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln — Currently closed with anticipated opening on July 17th
  • The Disney Gallery — Currently closed with anticipated reopening on July 17th
  • “it’s a small world” — Currently closed with anticipated reopening of May 9th
  • Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room — Closing April 28th with no known opening date
  • Mad Tea Party — Closing May 5th with anticipated reopening May 7th
  • King Arthur Carrousel — Closing May 7th with anticipated reopening May 9th
  • Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster — Closing May 19th with no known opening date

That’s a lot of rides! A few of those are also opening-day Disneyland attractions.

The Disneyland 70th Anniversary starts on May 16th, 2025, and runs through summer 2026. From newly reimagined shows…
