People Are Sharing the Most Alarming Disney World Hotel Red Flags in 2025

We’re worried about Disney World hotels, and we know we’re not the only ones.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney World is always changing, and that includes its hotels. New perks, restaurants, and rooms pop up on an annual basis and we make sure to always keep up with the updates and trends. Our readers do, too, and they’ve voiced some concerns as we head deeper into 2025.

Disney Vacation Planner

We asked our readers, “What are the biggest red flags about Disney World hotels this year?” and ya’ll did not hold back.

The most common answer related to rising costs.

Reader Barbara wrote, “Unfortunately it’s the cost. As someone who has been spoiled by staying in deluxe resorts for years, the price of those at this point is crazy. I love the convenience of staying ‘in the magic,’ but c’mon!”

Reader Stephanie added, “No longer 1 hour early entry – no extended hours except for deluxe, no package delivery and no daily housekeeping. Not new for this year but with the rising cost these should come back.”

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Reader Robb’s feelings were simply expressed: “The prices in relationship to the economy.”

We totally understand. Disney World has demonstrated annual inflation for years now, with prices hardly plateauing or decreasing. Without massive new perks (aside from the controversial new water park perk, which is a topic deserving of its own post) and increased incentives to match rising costs, frustration is palpable.

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Reader Abe echoed that sentiment, writing, “Decreasing perks + increasing costs = decreasing value. Disney used to be a park for families. With each passing year, it is becoming a park for the wealthy.”

As the hotels get more and more expensive, one has to wonder if opportunity for nearby hotels (or even Universal hotels, which are considerably more affordable) is increasing.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

Of course, it wasn’t all doom and gloom.

Reader Alison wrote, “They won’t let me live there,” and reader Brian also wrote that a red flag is “that I’m not staying at one”.

Honestly, we feel that sometimes. What we would give to be PERMANENT Disney World residents!

  1. One recent red flag I noticed just this week. The new bounce back offer that now can be booked online was just changed so that you can no longer modify with that offers book once or cancel. Was a saving grace for more frequent visitors. Dispite the high cost Disney doesn’t seem to want to reward loyalty.

  2. I agree about the perks. I am DVC, so get other perks and never had daily housekeeping. I don’t mind that though. I think it should be an option though. I really miss the airline check-in, package delivery, and shuttle.

  3. The cost is outrageous considering what they don’t make available anymore i.e.daily housekeeping. I’ve done some checking and local AirBnB’s are much less expensive than Disney Resorts and that includes Value Resorts! You can cook your own food if you want, swim in a pool without screaming kids, there won’t be any families running and screaming down the hall at all hours of the night and morning. I love staying on property but can do without it to save a ton of money overall!

  4. They’re setting a trend of influence due to demand outside of Disney with hotels because of the affordability and demand. What Disney is doing is not sustainable. When do you get to a point to where you stop the construction and be content for a few years in order to catch your breath?

  5. I agree completely. Rising costs and decreased perks are the problem

In addition to the now vanished perks of the past we must mention Package Delivery and Magic Express.

I also agree with the remark about the high costs of the Deluxe resorts. And this brings up the problem of Resort Hopping.

Pay an exorbitant rate to enjoy a Deluxe Resort only to have others ruin it by using perks they didn’t pay for.
