Dining in the Magic Kingdom can be a bit hectic.Â

So much so that we often recommend leaving Magic Kingdom during the lunch rush and instead heading over to a Monorail Hotel for your mid-day fuel. When the mid-day rush does die down, and you are looking for a bite at Disney World’s castle park, whatever you do, you are going to want to avoid these four restaurants.Â
We know a thing or two about dining at Disney World and eaten at almost every single restaurant across all four theme parks, two water parks, all of Disney World’s hotels, and Disney Springs. We like to dine at Disney World restaurants multiple times as menus change, and sometimes, quality goes up or down. As Disney World food experts, we want to help you out to find where you should and, in this case, should not eat in the Magic Kingdom.

Be Our Guest
It hurts to admit, but Be Our Guest is not what it once was. The Be Our Guest we loved is a mere image of what the experience is today. When it first opened, it acted as both a quick-service and table-service restaurant, depending on the time of day.

FINALLY! We’ve Spent YEARS Waiting for This Be Our Guest Change at Disney World!
Now, it is only open for lunch and dinner and features a prix fixe menu that is quite pricey. It costs $72 for adults and $43 for children. Our readers seem to agree with us as many reader reviews say that although the restaurant is beautiful, the food quality does not match the price.Â

If you wish to dine in a castle setting, we recommend Cinderella’s Royal Table, where you can meet multiple princesses with a better (in our opinion) prix-fixed menu.Â

Diamond Horseshoe
The Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland is a puzzling restaurant for us, as just one land over in Liberty Square, Liberty Tree Tavern serves up an almost identical menu. Both restaurants are all you care to enjoy and feature Thanksgiving-like feasts.Â

Our readers seem to agree that Liberty Tree Tavern is the better of the two, as it is recommended by 94% of reviewers, whereas the Diamond Horseshoe is only suggested by 69%.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
We know that Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe tends to get a bad rap. Now, if you are looking for a safe spot to eat with a menu that most people at your party will like, then Cosmic Ray’s is not a bad choice!

On the other hand, the food is nothing special; it is just glorified frozen theme park food. Most of the time, you are able to secure a Mobile Order slot, and there is tons of seating, but you would not catch us here, especially during the lunch rush.Â

The exception to this is during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party along with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as Cosmic Ray’s is usually home to some specialty menu items during these parties.Â

Plaza Restaurant
Plaza Restaurant is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., near the hub of the park. The food here can be a real hit or miss. There is also no bathroom inside; if you need to use the restroom, you will have to use the ones near Tomorrowland Terrace.Â

Depending on the time of day, if you are stuck eating inside, the atmosphere can be a bit depressing. If you are looking to eat on Main Street, we recommend heading over to Casey’s Corner instead.Â

The 6 Disney World Restaurants With an Astonishing Number of 10 Star Reviews
Highly disagree about Plaza. Great food options you won’t find elsewhere, we’ve always had great dining experiences, small and quaint so it’s not nearly as noisy as some of the other restaurants get.
My husband and I eat at the Plaza a lot.
We have had very good food there and you recommended it awhile back when you reviewed their food.
Casey’s corner, love the hot dogs and fries.
