Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs is one of our favorite spots to go when we’re in need of a sweet treat.

They’re known for those incredible half-pound cookies and massive cake slices, as well as monthly special offerings. But there are actually two Gideon’s Bakehouse locations in Orlando — one in Disney Springs and one at East End Market. On December 22nd, over at the East End Market, we were lucky enough to see something NEW before its official debut next summer — a Gideon’s Bakehouse food truck!
Today, December 22nd, Stuart & Bonnie’s Food Truck debuted at East End Market for its first and ONLY day of operation until Summer 2025! According to Gideon’s Bakehouse, the food truck isn’t even done yet, and each item was limited to one per customer to allow for the most amount of people to experience the food truck.

Every purchase also included a free art menu and parting gifts of a sticker, magnet, and button while supplies last. The truck opened at noon and was open as long as supplies lasted! We arrived at 10:30, and the line was already wrapped around the side of the building, and by 11:40, it was wrapped around three sides and all the way back to the front! At 11:45, right before opening, there were around 260 people in line, and we were about 80 people back.

Our friends over at Disney Food Blog got to chat with the owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse, Steve Lewis, and let us in on the information he shared with them! He explained he thought the Cuban Gelato Sandwich would be the biggest hit of the day, and that Stuart and Bonnie are personally his favorite characters that Gideon’s has created. He also hinted at the possibility of other fixed Gideon’s Bakehouse locations coming to other parts of Orlando in the future! (We can’t WAIT!)

We waited a total of 200+ minutes in line, with 140+ of those minutes being after the truck officially opened. To try most of the menu, we grabbed all four of the food items offered, as well as Stuart’s Soda Pop!

Stuart’s Soda Pop actually sold out within 20 minutes of the truck being open, but they were able to make a little bit more by the time we got up to the front of the line, so we were able to grab some! It cost us $7, and we really enjoyed it! It’s not orange soda like you normally think of; it doesn’t taste fake at all. It tasted like real orange juice with a bit of bubble to it — almost like a mimosa without the alcohol. It was wildly refreshing, and we’d love to have it any time we’re hot and thirsty!

The Cuban Gelato Sandwich was available for $7, and we were really hoping it would live up to the hype. This is a MASSIVE ice cream sandwich with lemon pie gelato sandwiched between two layers of thin citrus sponge cake. The gelato was delicious, with tons of tart lemon flavor and even a pie crust texture throughout it! We loved that this whole treat had a great tangy flavor to it and is easily shareable as long as you have a knife — this was frozen through and through, and we couldn’t tear it apart with just our hands!

Next up was the Icebox Citrus Tart for $6, which was beautiful! It’s a gingersnap tart shell that was easy to cut through and had a great texture, which we enjoyed. The orange curd, lemon whipped cream, and orange whipped cream were all delicious together, but you’ll really need to enjoy gingersnaps and citrus flavors to enjoy this!

Bonnie’s Shortbread is available for just $3 and is a shortbread cookie sandwich shaped like a lemon. In between the shortbread cookie is lemon curd, and we hate to say it, but this felt a liiittle off to us. The taste was fine, but the shortbread was pretty strangely soft and wasn’t as buttery as we expected it to be. We don’t feel it was up to the level of the other Gideon’s Bakehouse desserts.

Finally, the Florid a la Mode is available for $8 and this was easily the best deal here! It’s easily shareable between three people — it’s orange cake with an orange curd center with a crumb topping on top. The lemon pie gelato was plopped on top, and wow, it paired so well with the cake! We loved the cake itself, especially because it was more like a crumb cake. It did melt fast, so beware of that, but otherwise, grab three spoons and dig in!

Overall, we really loved this concept and are sad we won’t see these items again until likely May 2025 at the earliest, but we’re looking forward to hearing more about the future of this exciting project!

When the food truck begins officially opening next year, the plan will be for it to drive around town bringing sweet treats and drinks to all who see it come by. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest Stuart & Bonnie’s Food Truck news, so stay tuned to AllEars!
