Maybe you want to save a little money. Maybe you have a great vacation snack you’re itching to enjoy at Disneyland. Maybe you’re a Disney local, and you want to bring some food from home. No matter the reason, you might be wondering, “Can I bring food into the Disneyland parks?” and we have the answer!

If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland Resort, there are some key rules you should know. One of the most common questions we see regarding the theme park rules is about the food situation! We eat a LOT of Disney food, so while we might not take advantage of this rule, it might come in handy on your next visit.
Can I bring food to Disneyland?
According to Disneyland’s official guidelines, you CAN bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverages into the parks. Now, there are a few important caveats, so make sure you read up on ALL the rules before you bring in a cooler full of food and drinks.

Rules about bringing food to Disneyland
First of all, you can NOT bring outside alcoholic beverages into the parks. No bottles of beer; no cans of White Claw. If you want an alcoholic drink, you’ll have to visit Disney California Adventure or hit up a restaurant in Disneyland Park. Fun fact — Disneyland was a totally dry park up until 2019. These days, restaurants like River Belle Terrace, Carnation Cafe, and Cafe Orleans serve beer, wine, and mixed drinks.
Alcohol Is Available at These Disneyland Restaurants
Additionally, anything you bring can NOT be stored in a glass container. We’re talking glass bottles, glass storage containers, and glass cups.

Oh, and if you decide to bring leftovers from home, they better be fresh and ready to eat. Disneyland states that any food you bring must not require heating, reheating, processing, or refrigeration. This is our favorite part of the rule. Your outside food or beverages can not have “pungent odors.” No stinky fish!

If you bring your own food to Disneyland, make sure to inform a Security Cast Member of all the food items you packed when you enter the park. If you have a cooler bag, for example, it will get checked!

Where can I eat my food?
Disney suggests visiting the complimentary picnic area outside the Main Entrance to Disneyland Park, but you can enjoy your food inside the park, too.

Don’t forget that Disneyland has a TON of great snacks in the parks, and there are some pretty inexpensive options!

We love the snacks at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (the Ronto Wrap is a favorite of ours!), and the churros are famous for a reason.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
