The Dates You NEED to Know for 2025 in Disneyland Resort

If you plan on visiting the Disneyland Resort in 2025, there are several dates you need to know about.

Next year marks the start of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration, which is joining a packed calendar of special events and new and returning offerings. The resort and its theme parks will look very different throughout the year, so it’s important you get up-to-speed on several dates ahead of your trip!

Let’s get into the dates and events you need to be mindful of before your next 2025 Disneyland visit!

Grizzly River Run Closure — January 6th through March 13th, 2025

While ride refurbishments will be largely left off this list, Disney California Adventure’s Grizzly River Run’s scheduled refurbishment is especially notable since the attraction will be closed for multiple months early in the year.

This popular water ride will be closed from January 6th through March 13th, 2025.

Lunar New Year — January 17th through February 16th, 2025

The Lunar New Year Celebration is coming back to Disney California in 2025! This event will provide offerings inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions to help ring in the Year of the Snake. You will see characters in celebratory outfits, the “‘Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration’ water short, ‘Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession’ on select days, daily live musical performances, and Asian-inspired menu items across six Lunar New Year marketplaces and select dining locations.”

Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year Celebration will be held from January 17th through February 16th, 2025.

Haunted Mansion Returns — January 18th, 2025

While Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is scheduled to be closed for a short period from January 7th through January 17th, 2025, its return will be notable for a major reason.

The Haunted Mansion closed in January 2024 to make way for its brand new queue. When it closed, it was already months into to featuring the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. When it reopened later in the year, it maintained the Holiday overlay, so we haven’t seen the regular Haunted Mansion in over a year. That changes on January 18th when it FINALLY returns.

Sweethearts’ Nite — Select Days in January and February

Celebrate love at Disneyland with Sweethearts’ Night early next year! These after-hours special events will include “a new cavalcade on Main Street, U.S.A., a Royal Ball, encounters with character couples, and lively music.”

Anaheim Ducks Day — January 24th, 2025

Are you a fan of the Anaheim Ducks, hockey, or Disney California Adventure? Check out Anaheim Ducks Day on January 24th!

California Adventure will play host to the event as fans will be treated to “a cavalcade, appearances by select Anaheim Ducks players, themed games” and so much more. Downtown Disney will also feature a fan zone with entertainment, activities, and photo opportunities.

Celebrate Gospel — February 8th and February 15th, 2025

Celebrate Gospel, a Disneyland tradition for over a decade, will return on February 8th and 15th next year.

The event will feature performances by community choirs from across Southern California as well as award-winning artists.

Red Car Trolley Closes Permanently — February 9th, 2025

As California Adventure begins to undergo some MASSIVE changes, the first attraction we’ll be saying goodbye to is the Red Car Trolley on February 9th, 2025.

If you want to get one last ride in, head over before February 9th and hop on the iconic attraction that takes you down Buena Vista Street all the way to the edge of Avengers Campus.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival — February 28th through April 21st, 2025

Disney California Adventure’s Food & Wine Festival is unsurprisingly returning in 2025 and will be one of the Disneyland Resorts’ biggest foodie events of the year. You’ll find a creative menu based on California eats, “ten marketplace — including two with new themes —  live entertainment, and the return of fan-favorites such as Chef Goofy, bookable culinary experiences and the classic Soarin’ Over California attraction.”

The 2025 festival will be held from February 28th through April 21st, 2025.

90s Nite — March 4th and March 6th, 2025

Calling all millennials! This next Disney event is for you!

90s Nite, an after-dark event at Disneyland, will offer dance parties, sing-alongs, and more as guests celebrate Disney movies, music, and pop culture from the 1990s. Keep an eye out for the “90s on Parade”, which will have nods to past parades such as “The Lion King Celebration” and “Mulan Parade.” 90s Nite will be held on March 4th and 6th next year.

Season of the Force — March 28th through May 11th, 2025

Held at Disneyland, Season of the Force is a Star Wars event that will offer “Fire of the Rising Moons”, which will perform nightly at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with new projection effects and music alongside fireworks on select nights.– enhanced with fireworks on select nights.

The Hyperspace Mountain – Space Mountain overlay will also return to Disneyland when the event is held from March 28th through May 11th, 2025.

Star Wars Nite — Select Dates in April and May, 2025

Sticking with the Star Wars theme, Star Wars Nite is also returning on select dates in 2025.

This after-hours event will feature appearances by Star Wars characters, unique gatherings, and special photo opportunities. The event will be held on the following dates:

Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration — May 16th, 2025 through Summer 2026

We already mentioned it, but Disneyland is celebrating a major milestone in 2025. The resort will be celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2025 with special events and offerings from May 16th, 2025 all the way into the summer of 2026!

Additionally, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and the brand-new Walt Disney: A Magical Life featuring an animatronic of Walt Disney himself will open on May 16th. The 70th anniversary will also bring with it the return of the super popular Paint the Night Parade, World of Color Happiness!, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration, and the Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular.

Pride Nite — June 16th and 18th, 2025

Disneyland will once again host Pride Nite, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with rainbow projections, colorful décor, entertainment, and more.

This after dark event will be held on June 16th and 18th.

Halloween Time — August 22nd through October 31st, 2025

One of the most popular times to visit the Disneyland Resort is during its famous Halloween Time!

Enjoy Halloween-themed fun throughout the resort, including Halloween ride overlays, fun entertainment, and autumn-inspired food and beverages from August 22nd through October 31st.

Plaza de la Familia — August 22nd through November 2nd, 2025

During Halloween Time, head over to California Adventure for Plaza de Familia, a special celebration based on Pixar’s Coco film as well as the Día de Los Muertos holiday.

Enjoy this special offering from August 22nd until November 2nd, 2025!

Oogie Boogie Bash — Select Dates in August, September, and October 2025

It can’t be the Halloween season with Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure! This INCREDIBLY popular after-hours event invites guests to dress up in a costume for tons of Halloween fun, trick-or-treating, and special treats.

Oogie Boogie Bash will have more nights than ever in 2025. The 31 different dates are as follows:

This season will see the entire resort adorned with wintry décor, plenty of festive entertainment, holiday snacks, ride overlays, and much more all over the resort.

Festival of the Holidays — November 14th, 2025 through January 7th, 2026

Coinciding with the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort from November 14th, 2025 through January 7th, 2026, Festival of the Holidays is back at California Adventure.

The festival will offer specialty menus, live entertainment, and family activities “inspired by the diverse season of celebrations in Southern California.”
