Something Major is Missing From Disney’s Newest Hotel!

We finally got to take a look at Disney World’s newest hotel tower addition — Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Island Tower

We loved getting to check out the new pool, Cove Pool, and splash pad area, Moana’s Voyage, as well as the overall vibe of this new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) offering! However, while we were touring the area, we noticed something very interesting is MISSING from this new hotel.

In most hotels, you typically head to a check in desk before heading to your room, or if you have any issues that you need assistance with. However, Island Tower doesn’t have ANY physical check in desk!

So, how do you check in? Well, there are Cast Members stationed in the lobby to assist you when you arrive, or with any issues you need to discuss. They have technology with them to help you with anything you need, and while we think it’ll work just fine for the flow of the resort, it was certainly interesting for us to see!

We also chatted with a Cast Member who told us there are no plans to add an official check-in/computer desk into the lobby at this time, so this wasn’t just a part of the lobby that was quietly unfinished. It was designed this way specifically, so don’t be surprised to see the difference in layout when you arrive!
