Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Booking a 2025 Disney World Trip

It doesn’t really take too much to get us Disney Adults to book a trip to Disney World, especially when this one particular park suddenly got popular.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Yup. You guessed it. I’m talking about Animal Kingdom and how the whole of DinoLand, U.S.A. is getting permanently closed and transformed into a Tropical Americas-themed land complete with new attractions, dining, and plenty of special offerings. Like I said, this area just got massively popular and Disney Adults are clamoring to book their 2025 trip here, so let’s talk about why that’s the case!

As we were saying, Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand, U.S.A. is getting permanently closed and transformed into a Tropical Americas-themed land. In addition to new dining and shopping options, there will also be some new attractions coming to the land.

First up, and what quite possibly has received the most hype is that a brand-new Encanto attraction will be coming to the land!

It will feature the magical Madrigal family and take place inside of their iconic Casita. The story revolves around the day Antonio receives his special gift of communicating with animals (just like in the film!), and his room completely transforms into a rainforest.

Casita has magically brought all the furniture to life, allowing guests to ride through the story that goes beyond the film. It’s definitely going to be a magical journey! Sticking to the same side of the new land, TriceraTop Spin will be replaced by a brand-new carousel!

Here’s a bit about the new town and carousel: “The town features classic Spanish-style architecture in the heart of the rainforest and a carousel featuring the resident wood carver’s favorite animals.” Speaking of those animals, while we were at D23, we got to have a close look at one of the animals in the new attraction — Kevin from UP!

It’s Kevin

If you look closely at the concept art, you can spot a couple of the other animals that could be coming to the ride too like Scuttle from The Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumba from The Lion King…

…Kaa from from The Jungle Book, Squirt from Finding Nemo, Hei-Hei from Moana, Abu from Aladdin, Bambi from Bambi, and Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.

Moving to the right of the concept art, we arrive at what is the most important ride coming to the land (as far as this post is concerned), DINOSAUR, or rather, the brand-new ride that’s taking its place – and all new Indiana Jones attraction!

Now, this attraction in Animal Kingdom isn’t going to be a carbon copy of what’s in Disneyland. No, it will have a completely new story which will make it unique from any other Indiana Jones experience around the world. This new Indiana Jones ride will take place in a perfectly preserved Maya Temple. Of course, Indy wants to check it out himself and he is bringing us along with him!

And now, we finally get to the crux of the matter, why Disney Adults are suddenly booking out their 2025 Disney World trips. Disney just recently revealed the closing timeline for DINOSAUR! Disney said, “2025
is your year to visit before it goes extinct!”

Dinosaur

In full transparency, they didn’t give us an exact closing date, but the way they worded their announcement sounds like we shouldn’t bet on it being around in 2026, which means we have potentially about one whole year to get our last minute rides in. To be on the safe side, we’d definitely recommend trying to visit earlier in the year rather than later if you’re looking to ride it one more time.

DINOSAUR pre-show

Speaking of closures and timelines, Disney had previously announced that TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will all close permanently on January 13th, 2025. That means your last day to enjoy any of those specific offerings will be January 12th, 2025.

Chester and Hester’s

No specific mention has been given as to when The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will close, but you could keep it in the back of your mind that they might close around the same time as DINOSAUR which could be by the end of 2025. As always, we’ll keep you updated!

  1. No one is excited to go to the Animal Kingdom. It’s boring with nothing much to do or see. Animals are scarce. Safari is meh. Outside of that and Flight of Passage, Animal Kingdom is a long walk with disappointing results. Disney let this park slide for too long. Changes won’t be evident for years.
