Hurricane Milton continues to make its way toward Florida. The storm is currently expected to make landfall early Thursday morning but will likely bring severe weather to Florida prior.
We have been keeping a close eye on closures and operational updates, and we have an update from Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Cruise Line has just announced that the October 11th sailing of the Disney Wish from Port Canaveral has been canceled. Disney Cruise Line canceled the sailing due to weather conditions forecasted from Hurricane Milton, and the impact it might have on port operations.
Guests booked on the sailing will get a refund back to their original form of payment. So, if you were planning on being on this cruise, we want to make sure you are aware of the cancelation and to be on the lookout for a refund.
The cancelation of the October 11th sailing of the Disney Wish comes as Hurricane Milton bears down on Florida. The storm is expected to bring severe weather to much of Florida including the Disney World area.
The Orlando International Airport will be ceasing operations beginning at 8AM on Wednesday, October 9th. As well, SeaWorld Orlando will be closed on October 9th and October 10th.
Both Disney World and Universal Orlando have not announced any park closures but are monitoring the storm. Disney World will be closing a few hotels beginning at 11AM on Wednesday, October 9th. These hotels are Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Disney World has also waived fees for change and cancelations, restricted reservations for hotels and parks ahead of the storm. Disney has stopped taking hotel reservations for October 8th through October 10th. Park Passes have been “blocked out” for Wednesday, October 9th, so additional park passes can’t be made for that day at this time.
Stay tuned to AllEars as we continue to monitor Hurricane Milton.
