If you’ve visited Disneyland recently, you might have noticed that there have been a lot of changes at Downtown Disney.

Several new restaurants have already opened recently with more on the way. But Disney has just announced that this is just the beginning. Because Downtown Disney is about to get even more new shops and restaurants. Yes, things are going to be even busier soon at Disneyland’s dining and shopping district.
So let’s take a look at some new shops that are coming to Downtown Disney. This winter, Avengers Reserve will open and offer a new shopping option for Marvel fans to grab all their favorite Marvel collectibles, clothes, accessories, toys, and even comics.

The D-Lander Shop will be a new boutique experience “celebrating trend-forward fashions for Disneyland fans” with a selection of fashionable clothes, accessories, and jewelry.

Perhaps the most surprising news is that Marceline’s Confectionery will be reimagined and renamed as Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. Disney describes this candy shop as “a whimsical candy, sweets and treats shop featuring tasty favorites such as churro toffee, caramel apples, sour balls, lollipops, packaged confections and freshly made Werther’s Original Caramel popcorn.” Yes, that famous Werther’s caramel popcorn from EPCOT’s Karamel-Kuche is finally making its way west!

You won’t have to wait long for it either: the reimagined shop will reopen this winter. Marceline’s Confectionery is currently closed for this renovation, but you can visit a cart in front of the shop to pick up all your favorite treats until the new store opens.

In other shopping news, a new cart is also coming to Downtown Disney: Kawaii Slime. This cart will bring “an imaginative array of slime concoctions and toys in a multitude of different textures, colors, scents and glittery mix-ins for kids and kids at heart to play with over and over again!”

But that’s not all. MORE new restaurants are coming to Downtown Disney. A steakhouse and a barbecue eatery are coming from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori. The steakhouse will feature menu with prime cuts of beef, chops, fresh seafood, sandwiches, and chopped salads. The barbecue spot next door will be a quick-service location with traditional BBQ items like pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked wings. The barbecue eatery will also have an outdoor bar with craft beers and moonshine cocktails. These two new eateries will be located where Tortilla Jo’s used to be.

Not only is a brand new Earl of Sandwich being imagined for Downtown Disney, but a new table-service restaurant will be above that called The Carnaby Tavern. The space “is being designed as an homage to the swinging ‘60s ‘British Invasion’ pop and rock bands from the U.K.”

The Earl of Sandwich location on the east side of Downtown Disney will close in 2025 to make way for construction on Porto’s Bakery. You can currently get your Earl of Sandwich fix at the original location, as well as the Earl of Sandwich Tavern, as well as the new “pop-up pod” near Star Wars Trading Post located on the west end.
So, yes, a lot of big changes are coming to Downtown Disney. Check back with AllEars again soon for more details.
