Trust Me. It’s Worth a Trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge Just for Disney’s 2 NEW Announcements

Any day we get to see baby animals is a GREAT day in our book, which means we love visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is home to hundreds of animals of various species. We love walking around the park or hopping on Kilimanjaro Safaris to say a quick hello to just some of the animals that call the park their home. But over at the nearby Disney hotel, we have SUPER exciting news to share — TWO new babies have been born at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Dr. Mark, the Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment, recently shared on Instagram that a new Hartmann’s mountain zebra was born on June 13th at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

This new baby girl weighed around 100 pounds and will be out on the savanna soon with her momma. We can’t wait to see them out there together!

But that’s not all — a baby eland was also born recently! This healthy baby girl was delivered by mom Cleo, and both mom and baby are doing wonderful, according to Disney. Oh, and if you’re wondering, an eland is a type of antelope.

Both are currently bonding backstage in the barn, but we’re hoping we’ll get to see them out on the savanna sometime soon, too.

We visit the Disney World parks every day, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated on when we see these new additions roaming around. In the meantime, check out more of the latest Animal Kingdom news!
