REVIEW: Disney’s EXCLUSIVE Dining Packages Are BACK at Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! has finally returned to Disneyland Resort after a long hiatus, so of course — we had to check it out.

Rancho del Zocalo

Disney promised an updated show with new scenes along with some of the same ones we all love! And, what’s better than a show? Dinner and a show, of course. We’re checking out the Fantasmic! Dining Package at Rancho del Zocalo, so come along with us!

Background

Fantasmic! is back and so are dining packages at Blue Bayou, River Belle Terrace, and Rancho del Zocalo. We were invited to check out the Rancho del Zocalo dining package, which normally costs $35 per adult and $25 per child for lunch or dinner.

Rancho del Zocalo

This package comes with a 3-course meal and reserved seating for one of the two Fantasmic shows in the evening, and includes dishes like Chile Verde Riblets, Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Tacos, Potato Tacos (plant-based), and Sweet and Savory Carne Asada. But enough about that!

Atmosphere

Before you walk into the restaurant, you’ll see a sign directing you where to go inside to grab your food if you have a dining package, since it’s a little separate from the rest of the restaurant!

You’ll be able to see your food being plated before you grab it, and can take it to sit wherever you’d like.

Without further ado — let’s eat!

Food & Drinks

We tried the Sweet and Savory Carne Asada first, and were fans! The beef was nice and flavorful and was cooked very well. While the cilantro lime rice didn’t have a ton of flavor, it just tasted like Mexican rice with hints of lime. Both the rice and the refried beans were a little simple, but not bad by any means!

Sweet and Savory Carne Asada

We also grabbed the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Tacos, which we also were impressed by! The shrimp was fresh and flavorful, and we loved that they had the smallest crunch at the start. However, these were definitely more spicy than sweet, so if you’re opposed to spice, stay away!

Both of these entrees also really highlight the Korean/Mexican fusion at this restaurant, with the sweet marinade flavor on the beef reminding us of bulgogi style beef, and the cucumbers and refreshing greens on the tacos.

Yum!

Lastly, we had the Cortadilla for dessert, which was a very moist vanilla cake! There wasn’t a ton of the frosting, but we did really enjoy the fresh and fruity filling in between the layers of cake.

But now, it’s time for the show!

Fantasmic! Package

While the food was a plus — we’re really here for Fantasmic! While crowds were heavy for this first show back, we were taken to a private viewing area that had a fantastic view of the show.

Crowds were heavy!

There is no standing allowed in this area though, so keep that in mind — but it means you’ll get to rest your legs!

Should You Go?

Overall, if you’re looking for a way to guarantee you’ll have a good spot for Fantasmic! while also getting a solid meal with great serving sizes for the price, this is definitely worth it! It also can save you tons of time in the park as well, because you won’t be trying to secure your spot for the show for an hour.
