One of Disney World’s deluxe hotels is about to DRASTICALLY CHANGE!
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort first opened to much fanfare in 2009. Built on the grounds of the Contemporary’s old North Garden Wing building, the tower is technically a standalone Disney Vacation Club resort but follows the same design aesthetic and theme as the original Contemporary. Over the last 15 years, the resort has become one of the most expensive and in-demand of the Disney Vacation Club’s properties for members and non-members alike thanks to its luxury and proximity to the Magic Kingdom.
In April of 2024, Disney confirmed that beginning in September, the Bay Lake Tower would begin the first major refurbishment in its history, lasting a full year.
According to the Walt Disney World website, “From September 2024 to September 2025, room refurbishment work will take place in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. During this time, Guests will see and hear construction work throughout Bay Lake Tower. Please allow extra time for travel as alternate paths may be utilized.”
While Disney hasn’t released specifics about the renovation and refurbishment beyond the above, we would imagine the 15-year-old rooms will be modernized and updated. Stay tuned to AllEars for more updates on Bay Lake Tower.
