NEWS: Six Flags Is Building a BETTER Version of Disney’s Controversial Genie+ System

Could another theme park brand be creating a better Disney Genie service than the one Disney currently provides?

It’s no secret that the Disney Parks have dabbled in the tech space as we proceed deeper into the digital era. The results have frankly been divisive, and while Disney has a lot of room for improvement in its My Disney Experience appone major theme park company may be on the way to perfecting it.

According to Dallas Innovates, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is partnering with several tech companies for the largest tech alliance in the entire theme park industry. This alliance will lead to immersive interactive experiences throughout Six Flags’ theme parks and water parks all over the country.

Six Flags is officially partnering with Dell, Fueled, Google, HCL Tech, Pure Imagination Studios, and Snowflake for a “first of its kind” alliance to offer the most innovative technology to Six Flags guests and employees.

Per Six Flags, the goal is to redefine the guest experience by streamlining “pre-visit planning” and improving the at-park experience through artificial intelligence-driven assistance and support, as well as notifications, analytics, and tailored recommendations. Sounds a lot like the virtual planning aspect of Disney Genie, right?

Six Flags chief digital officer Jacques Omran lauded the partnership and credited Six Flags as a pioneer in this new technology. This new tech will harness “the power of an alliance to accelerate innovation and seamlessly blend brands into the guest experience through multiple touchpoints in the park. Our guests will benefit from the latest technology to make their visit more personalized, enjoyable, and memorable,” said Omran.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian added, “Through this alliance, the industry can take advantage of our innovations in data, technical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI to create memorable and tailored guest experiences.”

Six Flags also plans to bring its theme parks into the metaverse. According to Joshua Wexler, CEO of Pure Imagination Studios, the company is developing new AR, VR, and animation technology that will expand “interactivity and gameplay in both the physical and digital worlds” and that the alliance will “transport guests of all ages to places that aren’t bound by traditional physical rides, visuals, or reactions.”

  1. I have been a six flags pass holder for 5 years. If anyone has ever been to a six flags park or tried to use their existing app, they will almost certainly agree that we will believe it when we see it.

    Not holding my breath.
