We’ve eaten at every single restaurant in Disney World, and that means we’ve got some STRONG opinions about food.
We’ve got recommendations for every craving, budget, and celebration, depending on whether you want a quick service meal or a sit-down experience. But there are some restaurants in Disney World that just seem to fly under the radar. And today, we’re here to chat about why you should eat at one of Disney’s most underrated restaurants.
Magic Kingdom is often chastised for having not-so-great dining options, but one of Disney World’s hidden gems just so happens to be there — Plaza Restaurant! This charming little spot is tucked away on the corner of Main Street, U.S.A. facing Cinderella Castle.
Here, you’ll find a menu filled with American classics like burgers, sandwiches, meatloaf, pot roast, and salads. When it comes to the fare, it’s a pretty crowd-pleasing spot.
But our two favorite things about Plaza Restaurant? The appetizers and desserts! The appetizer list is home to soup, salad, and onion rings, but most importantly, the Plaza Loaded Fries! This treat is $13 and serves TWO people — the fries are topped with melted cheddar, bacon, green onion, and spicy sour cream. They are to DIE for.
For dessert, Plaza Restaurant offers a wide selection of sweet treats, including some delicious milkshakes and sundaes. And some of them have some over-the-top fixings!
Even outside of the food, there are some great reasons to visit Plaza. Several of the seats are next to the stunning wall of windows, where you can get a great view of Cinderella Castle, and sometimes, the Festival of Fantasy Parade.
The dining room is also pretty small, so it’s not massive and overwhelming like some other Disney World spots. It does make it a little more challenging to snag a reservation, but it means that the vibe is a little more low-key overall.
Finally, the service here is spectacular! We’ve had plenty of great experiences with the wait staff, and we’re happy to recommend them to anyone who comes to visit.
