EPCOT Journey of Water Inspired by Moana

You’ve seen that there are SO many renovation and construction projects in progress all over Walt Disney World, which is great because that means you’ll have brand new accommodations to choose from, attractions to enjoy, restaurants to try, and so much more! And this is exactly what we wanted to talk about. Let’s go over some of the places in Disney World that are going to look totally different really soon!

Can you believe that we’re almost in 2024? Between now and then, there are so many things that are changing at Disney World, so let’s go over some of them!

Let’s dive in!

Magic Kingdom Updates

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening sometime in 2024, and we can’t wait to experience this new ride!

Walt Disney Imagineering is creating an original, next chapter story for Tiana. Within the attraction queue, guests will discover that she continues to grow her business with Tiana’s Foods – an employee-owned cooperative. Combining her talents with those of the local community, Tiana has transformed an aging salt mine and built a beloved brand. (DISNEY)

We don’t have an official date for this ride yet, but we do know Disney has been hard at work transforming the ride ever since Splash Mountain closed its doors. Here’s a look at the construction progress; there’s scaffolding EVERYWHERE!

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for an opening date and let you know as soon as we hear what it is.

This might be the coolest fact about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

Disney Springs Updates

Rothy’s, a popular retail brand that specializes in creating zero-waste machine-washable styles from 3D knitting technology, may be opening a new store in Disney Springs! We noticed a job posting for a Store Manager position on Rothy’s website. Check out the location — it says “Disney Springs.”

Disney hasn’t made any announcements about this new store at this time, but since the company is already looking to hire, we expect to see the store pop up sometime in the future.

The company is known most for its shoes, but also makes zero-waste bags and clothing. In terms of location, there are currently a few places that come to mind (we’ve seen a few stores close over the past few months), but we’ll keep our eyes out for more information.

We’ve seen several closures

Wearing the right shoes is INCREDIBLY important for Disney World! Check out shoe recommendations here!

Resort Updates

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

There’s a big construction project happening at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, as a new DVC tower is being built. You might see or hear construction if you’re staying at that hotel.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Let’s talk about Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The cabins are getting an overhaul. Check out the concept art Disney shared for the new look, which is much more modern.

As part of this change, Disney is building more than 350 new cabins to replace the old ones. They haven’t shared a look inside the cabins yet, but we can imagine that they’ll be all the rage when they open in 2024.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Next up, Disney’s Beach Club Resort joins this list because it is getting some room updates as well. Take a look at the new flooring and the Donald Duck-inspired beach design we spotted when we got a tour.

The room we visited was home to a King bed and a pull-out couch. There was also new Donald Duck artwork on the wall. He’s at Stormalong Bay!

Currently, it’s the Disney’s Beach Club Villas that are getting updated, but we’ll let you know if the regular rooms get the same treatment. As we said with Fort Wilderness, reservations for these rooms are going to fly like crazy when they’re done with the renovations.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Now, don’t forget about Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. They’re also getting a makeover with new restaurants outside on the BoardWalk, updates in the hotel rooms, and the lobby.

Disney shared a sneak peek at the updates coming to the rooms at the hotel, which include new furniture, color schemes, and a Mickey and Minnie decor theme.

The rooms are now decorated in pastels and have new laminate flooring. All of these transformations will certainly make reservations for the Boardwalk Inn extremely difficult to nab, so be prepared!

Also, there are a couple of NEW restaurants coming to the BoardWalk: The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.

Other Resorts Updates

Outside of those three, there are other updates that are in progress, as well.

You’ll want to keep an eye on the Grand Floridian Resort’s guest rooms as they are getting updated. Here’s a peek into what the Disney Vacation Club rooms look like. We’ll update you when we know what the standard rooms look like.

Mary Poppins-inspired Deluxe Studios with DVC

Next, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be getting updates starting in 2024, which means there’ll be a while until those are ready. We’ll keep you posted on these ones.
