If you have a car, and might because of the removal of the Magical Express, then you can stay anywhere. We have done some less than spectacular hotel/motels on International Drive and they were fine because we did not stay in the room except to sleep. Some have a free “breakfast” which is a plus and with the car you can go to the Character Warehouse for some bargains. Also I was always a proponent of the ME as the bus transportation between resorts is good and not having a car is an expense you are happy to do without, but I must add that hopping between parks (other than MK) is a breeze with a car.
