Water parks are a necessity in the Orlando heat!

There are several water parks to cool off in here in Orlando from Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon to Universal’s Volcano Bay, and even Blizzard Beach, which is currently closed for renovations. While I normally hate water parks, Universal might have changed my mind — so let’s talk about why!
In the past, water parks and I don’t tend to mix well. Normally the food isn’t that great, I don’t love water slides, and I feel weird walking without my shoes on. (I know I can’t be alone in that!)

I’ve spent quite a bit of time at Disney and Universal water parks lately, but Volcano Bay has made me rethink my water park stance. The first thing that impressed me? The rides!

Volcano Bay has a great variety of rides from the Honu Ika Moana Raft Slides to the high seed, TeAwa The Fearless River adventure. I normally am a person who is content to skip most water slides, but Volcano Bay has convinced me not to underestimate the fun of the rides! There is a little something for everyone — from the calming Kopiko Wai Winding River to the high-in-the-sky drop slide Ko’okiri Body Plunge!Â

Volcano Bay is also geared a bit more toward adults compared to Disney’s water parks. There are several full bars throughout the water park, meaning you are never too far from a place to grab a drink. And Volcano Bay offers refillable cups that give guests a discount after their first drink. While Disney does have bars, they aren’t as full-service comparatively and there aren’t as many throughout their water parks.

The final thing that convinced me to love Volcano Bay? The food! Volcano Bay has some of the best theme park food in Orlando! From the iconic Waturi Fusion ice cream to the delicious Coconut Fried Chicken, there are tons of options when it comes to tasty dining here.Â

Volcano Bay truly has made me reconsider my stance on water parks but if you want to learn even more about Volcano Bay, you can watch our perfect day there right here.
While there are some amazing water parks in Orlando, Volcano Bay really sits about the rest in my opinion! Don’t forget to keep following AllEars for all of your Universal tips and tricks so you can be prepared before your next trip to the bay.
