One of our favorite perks of visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is seeing all of the unique animals that live on the property!

Disney is always quick to share with fans and-park goers the news regarding the animals that live in the parks and resorts. Back in July, Disney announced the birth of Beni, the 12th okapi to be born at Disney World, and the fifth at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Since July, Beni has been monitored alongside his mother backstage to make sure he is healthy and ready to take on the Pembe Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, Beni has recently been spotted with his mother Olivia out on the resort’s savanna!

Disney shared that Beni and his mother are now at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

In July, Beni was born at around 100 pounds and three feet tall. Disney says he is now four feet tall and around 230 pounds! He’s definitely done some growing, but he’s still got a long way to go. Okapi can grow to be six feet tall and 650 pounds!

The best way to view Beni and his mother alongside other animal friends is by visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge or by going on Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom.

We’re so glad to see Beni out on the savanna and doing well! We can’t wait to see how much more he grows in the months to come.
