Mickey's PhilharMagic Unexpectedly CLOSED in Disney World

If you’re heading to Disney World, you’ll need to be prepared for one big thing — CLOSURES.

Some of these closures are planned and announced — like some of the ones we’ve seen set for January 2023. But other times rides may close due to weather or simply unexpectedly close for other reasons. And if you’re heading to Disney World today (December 16th) there’s one ride closure you need to be prepared for.

At Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s PhilharMagic temporarily CLOSED unexpectedly on December 16th.

When we checked the My Disney Experience app, we saw that the ride was listed at the end of the wait times list as “temporarily closed.” It remained that way as of 2:25 PM and had not yet reopened.

If you are in Disney World and encounter a temporary closure, here’s what you can do:

Check the My Disney Experience app repeatedly to see if the ride reopens — once a listed wait time is shown, you can head over to the ride to hop in line!
Speak with Cast Members near the ride to see if they have any information about when it might reopen
Come up with a Plan B ahead of time to account for closures of any of your must-do rides
Take advantage of things like Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours to make the most of your day so you won’t be as worried if unexpected bumps in the road pop up
