Genie+ Price Increased AGAIN in Disney World Today

Genie+ has had a controversial history.

Disney Genie+

Genie+, which debuted in October 2021, has changed quite a bit since it started. From changing to flexible pricing to changing the rules which confused lots of guests, Genie+ has had a rocky introduction to Disney World and Disneyland. Today, we noticed a few more changes taking place!

Today, October 15th, Genie+ will cost Disney World guests a whopping $22 per person per day. This is a $7 increase from the original $15 per guest per day.

Disney recently revealed that Genie+ pricing will work the same way that Disney theme park tickets do. This means that prices will rise or lower depending on the time of the year and crowd levels. According to Disney, the minimum price will remain at $15 and the current maximum price will be $22. Another change we’re seeing is that prices for Individual Lightning Lanes have also increased!

Today, to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance, it will cost guests $22 per person. That means one person could be spending $44 dollars for a Lightning Lane at Rise of the Resistance and Genie+ in Hollywood Studios.

You should keep in mind that this pricing is subject to change throughout this month and into the future. Currently, Genie+ can only be purchased on the day of your theme park visit starting at midnight on your My Disney Experience app.

  1. I agree that Disney should get rid of Genie+ and fast passes. Seems they let you wait a little less time when you have the pass but wait longer in other attractions when you don’t have the pass. It works out the same so why have the bother of trying to schedule them and constantly trying to coordinate lunch and passes. Just get rid of them.

  2. too much money i was just there in july and did not purchase genie + we are a family of 4 we rode pretty much everything. and sometimes 2 or 3 times. i would say the only park that really needs genie + is MK . disney is pricing themselves out of business. or at least the middle class . it is very sad. plus i dont want to walk around with my phone in my hand refreshing all the time just to setup rides. you miss alot when your face is in your phone . i dont want to carry my phone, or be on my phone all day at the parks. ridiculous

  3. Love Genie+ because it saves me so much time. They should start a VIP Genie + and charge more to bypass the Genie+ lines which are getting to be the new standard. Just returned from a great week stay at the Poly and a cast member said that there will be a new dining plan that will charge you to make 60 day out reservations. She said that there will be tier restaurant levels and that you could pick from the categories depending on which reservation plan you have. She also said that there is a possibility that Disney will start charging for in park transportation and issue travel passes for the bus, boat and monorail service. This will help control the crowds better and let Disney improve on the bus routes.

    1. When will Disney charge for the oxygen you breathe at the parks? Oh wait. Pay toilets. Why haven’t they thought of that? Or $5.00 for a glass of water with your dinner. Why not? The public will pay.
