We’ve been staying at Saratogao Springs since we bought into DVC in 2004 with SS as our home resort. We have also used our DVC points to stay at several other DVC resorts in WDW for a change of scenery. The atmosphere at SS is soothing and relaxing. It is not wall to wall people. There are multiple pools. We have utilized golf for the men and the Spa for the ladies. Artisit’s Palette is one of our favorite breakfast locations in all of WDW, and we have tried many of them. It is fast and friendly, and the food choices tend to please our family of nine. We also enjoy Turf Cub (except for the COVID closure). It is one of the sleeper restaurants in WDW, good food and not the highest prices. We tend to plan our dining to be near the park we are visiting each day. Plus, Disney Springs is easy to get to from any of the parks. Then it’s a short walk or boat ride back to SS.
We go to the parks to be ‘Disneyied’. We stay at Saratoga Springs to unwind from all of the Disney hype. It works for us.
My wife and I are DVC members and Saratoga Springs is one of our home resorts. It is also our favorite. 1. While very large and spread out, it is also quieter and the grounds are beautiful. 2. I am a golfer and love that I can walk to the pro shop to play at Lake Buena Vista, which I do more than once every time we go. 3. My wife loves going to the Senses Spa and she rates the Senses at Saratoga higher than the Senses at the Grand Floridian. 4. Walking to Disney Springs, which you mentioned. 5. The Turf Club is perhaps the best kept secret for dinner. We have never had a bad meal there. Saratoga is the one resort at Disney where a couple could go even if they didn’t want to spend the money to go to the parks. If you have a car, it would be a great place to have a home base with plenty to do to help you relax and refresh on a vacation and you could then drive off property to experience other things Orlando area has to offer.
We like Saratoga because it is a little less Disney than most . Not that we don’t like the full Disney experience. But, it is a casual and relaxing more adult resort . Very close to Disney Springs and all the restaurants. The buses at Springs can get you to all parks and hotels too . Chill resort !
My wife and I have stayed at Saratoga Springs many times, as well as some of the other DVC and non-DVC resorts. We like being close to Disney Springs as many of our favorite restaurants are there. We find the grounds to be peaceful and soothing, a great respite after a day in the parks. I agree with almost all of the remarks in the video, but it is a good choice for us. And the fact that you can rent DVC points to stay there makes it an affordable luxury for us.
