Director Announced for NEW 'Avengers: The Kang Dynasty'

We’ve gotten a LOT of Marvel news recently.

Last week was the San Diego Comic-Con where we got tons of new announcements about new shows coming soon, sneak peeks of new movies, and just tons of Marvel news bombs! One of those major news announcements was about a new movie called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The movie is scheduled for release in 2025, and now we have information about who will be directing!

The next Avengers movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cretton is the director behind last year’s Marvel movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and he is in the process of developing a live-action series involving Wonder Man. Not much information has been revealed about Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but we do know that it will involve the character Kang who was first introduced in the season finale of Loki.

This movie, along with a second Avengers film, Avengers: Secret Wars which is slated for a November 2025 release will help close out Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it is unclear at this time which characters will play roles in these movies.

We are currently in Phase 4, which is known as the Multiverse Saga. This included content like WandaVision, Loki, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Phase 4 only has two more installments remaining: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Phase 5 kicks off next year with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which will feature Kang the Conqueror. Jonathon Majors, who played Kang in Loki said that there are multiple versions of Kang, and the Kang in Loki is not the same as the one in Ant-Man. It has not been announced which version will appear in The Kang Dynasty.

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been an effort to rebuild from the events of the first phases and introduce new characters and concepts for the movies and television shows to come.

With the release of the movie not scheduled until May 2nd, 2025, the film is still in its infancy, so we’ll be on the lookout for more news as progress continues.
