Disney Wish Cruise Ship CANCELS First 2 Test Sailings

The Disney Wish will set sail on its maiden voyage soon! We’re already excited about all the amazing things coming to the ship, including the AquaMouse, the Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Lounge, the Frozen dining experience, and more!

But we’ve got some bad news for those Cast Members and their families who had plans to go on a test cruise — those cruises have been canceled.

The original plan for the Disney Wish was to bring a limited number of Disney Cast Members and families on board for two test cruises. However, according to The Orlando Sentinel, things have not gone as planned now that the ship has arrived in Port Canaveral, Florida, its home port.

Instead, Disney Cruise Line confirmed that the two test cruises would be canceled to give the company time to focus more on the ship’s christening, which will happen on June 29th. That will be followed by a media preview cruise.

Then, two weeks later, on July 14th, the Disney Wish will embark on its maiden voyage with guests aboard. Note that this date was actually delayed by a month from its original sail date.

A Disney Cruise Line statement read: “We are in our pre-launch period for the Disney Wish and continue to complete finishing touches, as well as test and adjust various components of the ship in advance of our maiden voyage on July 14.”

The ship has already made the journey from Port Canaveral to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Meanwhile, the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that required inspections are being continued on the ship.
