Disneyland Resort Will Not Use Genie+ for Character Meet-and-Greets

Traditional character meet-and-greets are starting a phased return to the Disney parks, Aulani, and the Disney Cruise Line next week, starting April 18th.

You’ll soon get to HUG characters again!

There’s some important information that you might need if you’re planning to hit up some character meet-and-greets the next time you’re in Disneyland or Disney California Adventure.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will not use the Genie+ service for any of the character meet-and-greets in the parks, according to an article in The Orange County Register.

Disney World is currently allowing guests to make Lightning Lane selections for the modified “character sightings” available in the parks. Disney has not shared whether these options will still be available on Genie+ when traditional meet-and-greets return.

Pluto!

While traditional character meet-and-greets return on April 18th, not all of them will be available at once. They will return in phases over the coming months until everything from meet-and-greets to character dining experiences have come back. Disney has not shared what characters will and will not be available to meet on April 18th.
