So many things have changed in Disney World over the past couple years.

There are no more Extra Magic Hours, the Disney Dining Plan is on pause, you can’t hug characters anymore, and more. But, there is another major change you might be forgetting about that is super important to your trip if you’re flying to Orlando, so let’s get into it!
Disney’s Magical Express service is being discontinued next year. The service will officially stop on January 1st, 2022.

This means there will no longer be a free mode of transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport and the Disney World hotels. So, if you’re flying to Disney World on your next trip, you will need to figure out your transportation.

There are a few options — you can take a ride share service like an Uber, grab a taxi, or rent a car for the length of your stay. Each of these cost varying amounts of money depending on different factors like surge pricing and how many people are in your group.

Another option is to use a new service called Mears Connect. Mears is the company who ran Disney Magical Express, and they’re essentially still providing the same service, just at a price. This service starts up on January 1st, 2022.

Mears has two options of transportation — Standard Service and Express Service. Standard Service is $32 round trip, $16 one way per adult and $27 round trip, $13.50 one way per child (ages 3-9). This is a shared service that can have wait times and will have multiple stops on the way to your hotel.

Express Service is $250 for up to 4 people, then after that it’s $55 per each additional person. This is a direct service with limited wait times. Note that when this service was first introduced, it was called Premium Service.

So, you will need to plan ahead to make sure you know which of these transportation options works best for you and your party. For some, the familiarity of a service similar to Magical Express might be the option for you. While others may prefer to take a direct Uber at a lower cost.

You will also need to factor this extra cost into your budget, so keep that in mind when you’re planning! And, stay tuned to All Ears for more Disney World news, updates, and info.
