We’ve got everything from hit Marvel series to classic Disney films to Pixar shorts, and so much more. It seems that there’s constantly at least one big show being released, and fans are eating it up…including those who aren’t subscribed to the streaming service.

According to PCMag, TorrentFreak has compiled a list of this year’s most pirated TV shows — meaning, the shows that were illegally downloaded the most in 2021. The numbers are in, and several Disney+ shows crack the top 10 list, mainly the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Here’s the list of the 10 most pirated shows in 2021:

  1. WandaVision (Disney+)
  2. Loki (Disney+)
  3. The Witcher (Netflix)
  4. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Disney+)
  5. Hawkeye (Disney+)
  6. What if…? (Disney+)
  7. Foundation (Apple TV+)
  8. Rick and Morty (Adult Swim)
  9. Arcane (Netflix)
  10. Wheel of Time (Amazon Video)

All five of the Marvel series from this year made it into the top 10, and the other half of the list is made up of series from Apple TV+, Netflix, Adult Swim, and Amazon Video. The calculations are based on single-episode downloads, and WandaVision raked in millions of illegal downloads weekly.

With so many different streaming services out there, it seems that some people are searching for alternative ways to watch hit shows rather than pay for another service. This year, the Disney Bundle has been heavily promoted, allowing viewers to get three services in one at a discounted price. However, we still have to take into account the popular content spread across Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and others.

Disney hasn’t commented on these numbers, but with millions of downloads for WandaVision alone, it seems like a problem that they would want to address in the future. Right now, streaming is a big focus for the company, and former CEO Bob Iger recently commented on Disney’s goal to add more content for more people.

How will this impact Disney going forward? We’ll have to see. The company is still recovering from the losses during the pandemic, and the earnings from Disney+ have helped greatly in that process.
