We’re back at Universal Orlando Resort!

Today, we’re here to check out some brand new health and safety guidelines that started today, as Universal begins to relax some of the policies they’ve had in place since the parks reopened. Temperature checks are officially gone and social distancing guidelines have been reduced, so let’s see what the parks are like now!
The first stop is the parking garage, and as we’re walking in, we noticed something BIG has now disappeared…

…the former temperature screening area is gone! Orange County, FL issued a statement a few days ago saying that temperature screenings were no longer necessary.

There used to be several lines set up here for guests to get their temperature checked before heading into CityWalk and the parks, but now it’s back to the way it was pre-COVID.

As we made our way into the parks, we noticed another major change — social distancing guidelines have been lowered to 3ft.

Previously, ground markers were spaced every six feet apart due to recommendations from the CDC. However, a recent study showed that in certain circumstances, a three feet distance was just as effective.

Following those updates, Universal has made the decision to decrease physical distancing requirements. You’ll notice this change on new placards all around the parks.

Hopefully, this change will help make the lines shorter for attractions and rides. There has been a big issue with Universal Orlando’s ride queues spilling out into walkways, especially on particularly busy days.

We’ll keep looking out for more health and safety changes in the Central Florida theme parks, so stay tuned to AllEars! We’ve got all the travel news you need to know!
