Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers some fairly secluded trails that bring guests away from the hustle-and-bustle of the park.
Spots like Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail allow guests to see incredible animals in a relaxing, immersive environment. Now, the Gorilla Falls trail is undergoing construction!
This trail is located in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom, near Kilimanjaro Safaris. Here, you can see hippos, meerkats, fish, and of course, gorillas!
Currently, the trail is partially closed due to the construction, but guests are still welcome to explore it. Also, a queue is currently being used to limit the number of guests entering the trail at once.
A Cast Member shared that there was a hole in the aviary that needed fixing, requiring that portion of the trail to be blocked off. Arrows can be found throughout the trail, directing guests through the changed pathways and ensuring safe distances are maintained.
The viewing area for the gorillas is still utilizing a distancing procedure that only allows a few parties in the area at a time. Parties will stand on one of four designated green dots and are directed by Cast Members to shift down to the next dot around every minute or so.
This system allows guests enough time to get a good look at these adorable gorillas, while making sure everyone is safely apart.
We’ll share more updates about this project as they become available. Be sure to check back with us for more Disney news!
