The holidays have arrived in Disney World! Between all of the snacks, merchandise, and decorations, there’s a lot to take in!

If you’re heading to the parks this year for the holidays and you’re wondering what’s still around for entertainment, look no further! While some events are suspended for 2020, like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party as well as EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional, there’s still plenty to do!
Let’s get one VERY IMPORTANT piece of information out there first. Yes, you can see Santa Claus at EACH of the four parks this year, as well as Disney Springs!

He’ll be making socially distanced appearances throughout the parks, as well as on boat (yes, a BOAT) in Disney Springs.

Magic Kingdom
One of the biggest differences in holiday entertainment, of course, is the cancelation of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and with it Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. In its place, however, are festive character cavalcades!

These cavalcades will include some of our holiday favorites, including the Toy Soldiers, reindeers, elves, and gingerbread men! Another big difference coming to Magic Kingdom is Cinderella Castle itself. The Castle will not be covered in its Dream Lights like it typically is. Instead, a series of holiday projection designs will illuminate the castle nightly!

EPCOT
A couple of returning favorites can be found in EPCOT this year! Voices of Liberty will sing their holiday classics, but instead of being in the rotunda in the American Adventure, they will sing outdoors at the America Gardens Theatre stage.

The gospel and R&B group JOYFUL! has also returned for 2020! They are performing at the World ShowPlace Pavilion. EPCOT also have its own Christmas character cavalcades happening throughout the day.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Like the other parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have its own festive character motorcades! You can spot all of your favorite Disney characters parading around the park as well as Santa!

At night, Tower of Terror will come alive in a series of holiday projections that brings even more festive magic to the park!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We’ve LOVED Animal Kingdom’s unique character flotillas since the park reopening in July. Now, you can check out holiday character flotillas all season long!

And yes, Santa can be seen floating along the waterways surrounding Discovery Island!

Disney Springs
Beyond the four theme parks, there are TONS of holiday entertainment opportunities in Disney Springs! For starters, it will SNOW in the evening in Town Center, West Side, and The Landing!

Guest DJs will also make special appearances throughout the season at Waterside Stage and Exposition Park! New Toy Soldier Stiltwalkers as well as Snowflake Skaters will entertain guests. Last but not least, the annual Christmas Tree Trail has returned, but has been spread out to promote safe social distancing! A fun scavenger hunt has accompanied the tree trail as well.

The holiday season is here until December 30th, so be sure to check everything out on your next trip to Disney World!
