One fun part of a Disney Parks day is getting to hang out with our favorite Disney characters.
But unfortunately, when it comes to the characters Disney brings out for fans to meet, we know that sometimes…they have to retire.
Check out these 7 long-lost meet-and-greet character experiences you won’t find in the Disney parks!
1. Roger Rabbit
Did you know you used to be able to meet Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit, and Eddie Valiant? It’s true! These wacky characters had a brief meet and greet in Disneyland and have since been retired.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World also had some Who Framed Roger Rabbit displays, which also went away in the 1990s.
But those who look carefully will still spot Roger Rabbit’s silhouette above Hollywood & Vine, so it’s not as though Roger is entirely gone!

2. Ludwig Von Drake
Though you can meet Donald Duck in his various forms (we prefer his Tusker House fit), there’s one lovable duck you can’t meet. If you want to meet Dr. Ludwig Von Drake, you’re generally outta luck!
BUT Ludwig did make a very rare reappearance during the 2022 Disneyland after-hours Grad Nite Reunion event.
So, while he won’t normally be available for meet-and-greets in the parks, it just goes to show that you can never really know when the characters will reappear in surprising spots!
3. Princess Leia
Though you can meet most Disney princesses, one unofficial princess (who was actually a princess!) is not available for meet and greets anymore. A focus on the characters from the Star Wars sequel trilogy like Rey has left Princess Leia hidden away from guests.
But you can find her lightsaber in some places and other Princess Leia merchandise scattered throughout the parks and online, so there are still some ways to honor this princess and general.
4. Yzma
Um… yes. You could meet Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. She was every bit as horrifying and wonderful as you would expect her to be, and we sure wish she was still around.
It might not have been the “real” thing, but it was still a pretty epic experience!

5. The Blue Fairy
There are actually a few fairies on our list today that you can’t meet in the parks anymore.
Though the Blue Fairy occasionally appears in shows and parades, you won’t see her meeting with fans anywhere these days.
6. Milo Thatch
A lot of Disney characters get retired because their movies weren’t successful enough. One such casualty of these removals was the characters of Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
Previously, you could meet Milo, Kida, The Mole, and more! Atlantis has started to get some more love recently, so who knows what the future will hold!
7. Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather
Finally, we’re wrapping up our list with three familiar fairy faces. Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather from Sleeping Beauty used to have meet and greets. We briefly (we’re talking mere weeks) could spot these ladies on a float during Magic Happens in Disneyland. But the parade never made a return after the resort shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic. So alas, no more Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather over there.
BUT you can spot them over at the Festival of Fantasy parade in Magic Kingdom! It’s not quite a full meet-and-greet, but it’s better than nothing!
And that’s a look at the currently “extinct” characters in the parks. But remember that things are always subject to change!

What extinct characters would you like to meet? Tell us in the comments!
I think that more and more magic is leaving Disney. It’s truly sad. Now, Flora, Fauna, Merriweather, and the Blue Fairy? All beloved Disney characters, from Classic movies, gone! What’s next? Tinker bell? Snow White? Cinderella? Tigger is already gone…
A lot of people miss(ed) Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. Wish he would return!
Number 9 is,
The Paying Customer character.
