Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest addition to the Disney Vacation Club properties, and is inspired by the European Riviera.

The Disney Parks Blog released information today about the details and design of the new resort, which is set to open this December. The resort is themed after early 20th century hotels along the Mediterranean Coast.

There will be a central tower at the resort, flanked by wings of additional towers and structures. The design incorporates French roofs and Italian arches, and is meant to look like the resort grew over time to meet an ever-growing demand.

The best view of the sweeping resort will be from Topolino’s Terrace, the highly anticipated rooftop restaurant. Additionally, the towers are designed to grow in height as they get closer to the center, which will not only allow for a view of the resort, but a view of both Hollywood Studios‘ and Epcot’s fireworks from Topolino’s Terrace.

Each tower will feature its own unique design with varying color palettes, terraces, and porticos to reflect the changes in designs throughout the 20th century.
The window designs will vary throughout the resort, changing in size, shape, and treatments. Ornate railings will also adorn the resort and feature a subtle nod to Mickey and Minnie.

Overall, Disney’s Riviera Resort is designed with touches of European elegance partnered with the expected Disney magic and beauty. And let us not forget — Riviera Resort is a stop for the new Disney Skyliner, which opens September 29.
Bookings for Disney’s Riviera Resort and Toppolino’s Terrace are already available, beginning December 16, and can be made on Disney’s website.
