There is a lot of construction going on around Disney World — and some of it will add more than 800 guest rooms and suites this year! The Gran Destino Tower will open as part of Coronado Springs Resort on July 9, 2019, and the Riviera Resort will open on December 16, 2019, becoming Disney Vacation Club‘s 15th resort.
Gran Destino Tower is starting to take shape — with three months to go until opening day.
As Gran Destino Tower progresses it is really starting to match up with the concept artwork that was released when the Tower was announced.
The cover over the entrance needs to be added in the coming months as the project nears completion.

Coronado Springs is also welcoming Three Bridges Bar and Grill to the resort this summer. Here’s a peek at the construction of this new dining location. Learn more about this new location here.
Disney’s Riviera Resort will open to guests on December 16. Sales are now open for Disney Vacation Club membership at this resort, as well as guest hotel reservations.
Just like the Gran Destino Tower, you can start to see the construction matching up to the concept art.

Lastly, the Caribbean Beach Resort will be on the new Disney Skyliner System line. We stopped to check out the construction progress on the resort’s Skyliner station — and found a lot of covered gondolas waiting to be unwrapped and put into service!

We’ll be staying at Coronado Springs for the first time this fall. I’m excited about these developments!
I’m not excited for these to open. The parks will be even more crowded than they already are.
Not impressed with the tower look of the new buildings.
