Actor Cameron Boyce, who rocketed to fame with his roles on Disney Channel shows Jessie and The Descendants, died at just 20 years old on Saturday night.
Cameron’s family reported that he passed away due to a seizure caused by an ongoing medical condition.
Boyce will also live on through his numerous appearances on Disney Channel shows and the philanthropic work he took part in. On top of Jessie and The Descendants, he appeared in television shows like Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Bunk’d, and Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything. He spent his free time assisting nonprofit charities like the Thirst Project. Boyce helped raise $30,000 to build wells in Swaziland and other countries around the world for clean drinking water.
Actors and others Cameron Boyce previously worked with, including Adam Sandler and Disney CEO Bob Iger, have also offered their condolences.
“The Walt Disney Company mourns the loss of CameronBoyce, who was a friend to so many of us, and filled with so much talent, heart and life, and far too young to die. Our prayers go out to his family and his friends,” Iger said on Twitter.
A spokesperson for the family has asked for privacy at this time, adding that Cameron’s “spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
