Great way to meet characters and have a decent meal. Not the best food I've ever had, but certainly not the worst.

Very good assortment of food, characters very good and waitress excellent. Late breakfast coincides with lunch choices, which is an added bonus.

Pros:

Fun and good food.

Cons:

A little noisy - not a relaxing meal.

Be careful of booking a late breakfast. We like to rope drop and then schedule a late breakfast in the 10:00/10:30 range. We had a 10:30 for Tusker House and showed up about 10:20 to check in. It took 10 minutes just to get through the check-in line. We then received the light-up coaster pager. 40 minutes later, out pager finally went off. I was concerned there would be no breakfast foods left, but they were still serving. Our server was nice and we enjoyed the foods and character interactions. But, then the tab arrived. We were charged the lunch rate instead of the breakfast rate, so that took even more time to get settled. We would return for the food and experience, but perhaps not so late in the morning.

Pros:

Food and characters

Cons:

slow check-in and long waits

On 8/15, I had an 8am ADR. It was my first time dining here. It was no problem to add a person at the restaurant when a friend decided to join me last minute. We waited just a few minutes before being shown to our table.

The characters were cute in their safari gear, but it took almost 40 minutes for the first one to get to us. The tables were also very close together; people at the nearby tables were constantly bumping into other families when getting up to take pictures.

Food was very good. There was a lot of variety, and items were a good mix between familiar and a bit exotic. I really enjoyed the coconut sweet potato casserole. Other than that, I mostly stuck to traditional foods, like Mickey waffles, bacon, oatmeal, and breads.

I'm not sure why this meal is more expensive than similar meals, such as Crystal Palace. However, it's slightly increased price made me feel it was okay to use a DDP credit. And being right in Africa, we were able to rush out and ride in the first Kilimanjaro Safaris truck of the morning!

Pros:

Varied selections, good quality, early park entry

Cons:

Cramped tables

Had a great time with my 6 year old boy at this character meal. Food was good, buffet style, several options from tradtional eggs and bacon to pastries with a nice carving station. The Jambo juice was very good. We had a nice location with plenty of room for pictures when the characters visited. Good flow and timing with eating and the characters visits.

Pros:

Food, Characters, ease of making the reservation

Cons:

cost (I'm Cheap)

We chose this because we always do one character breakfast and DH is sick of being made to feel guilty when Piglet comes up just as he's chowing down on Piglet's Cousins bacon and sausage...The choice of foods was excellent and the addition of Jambo juice from Boma was great. Food was kept replenished and hot, with none of the crazy queueing system seen at Boma. The characters came around several times and the noise level wasn't horrendous. Only downside was that our photopass photo with Donald was out of focus-they did offer us the chance to go back and do it again at the end of the meal, but we thought it would be OK as they had also taken a photo on my camera-NOPE, that was all out of focus too. Wondering if the photographer had ever seen a camera before that morning!

Pros:

lots of choice

Cons:

photopass photograopher was dreadful at his job!

Tusker House was our 4th Character Breakfast. We ate here before boarding the Animal Kingdom’s Wild Animal Trek which is close by. The large breakfast bar is the perfect start to tacking Disney’s Animal Kingdom which feels like the land with the most walking. The Animal Kingdom continues to impress me for it really feels the most authentic as far as décor is concerned. Photo opportunities abound in this restaurant. There is a substantial amount of African inspired dishes on the breakfast bar. Many were a bit too unique for my taste, but sampling was fun. I would say this was the least children friendly buffet as far as food goes. Seriously, character meals are for adults too!

Pros:

Photo opportunities abound in this restaurant

Cons:

some of the buffet food was too exotic

We had a pretty good experience at Tusker House. Luckily were were able to get in early before the park even opened and I liked the fact that there was a separate line for us to get in and people were directing us. I was surprised to find that the place was not packed to the gills and the food was plentiful and we had many choices. We didn't go away from this meal hungry!

I was only mildly disappointed with the character experience.. we did get to meet Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy- which was awesome (only Donald didn't sign autographs) but it just felt a little rushed. Also, we were in a back corner where we had to shut the blinds so that we weren't blinded by the sun but made it difficult to get good pictures.

Staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly! Would spend the money to do it again (although it's pretty high for a breakfast!)

On the flip side, Disney should bottle the juice that they serve for breakfast there! I could have enjoyed an entire jug of it! Amazing!

Pros:

food, characters, location,juice

Cons:

characters, cost
