We ate here 2/1 for lunch. We had the dp. We are two adults and a 13 yr old. We had two roast beef sandwiches and a croque monsieur with fries for each. We preordered. We checked in about 20 minutes early. We were given a yellow rose and told to walk down the left side. Once over the bridge people on the right were lined up waiting to go into the ordering line. We were let right in and sent to the preorder register. We confirmed our order and found a seat. We sat in the main room by the window. The food was a little slow coming out. We got our drinks and waited. The roast beef sandwiches were comparable to panera steak and arugala sandwich the dies were teetering on too saltya lit than McDonald's. Smaller than I remember. The croque monsieur was good more ham than let trip.

Pros:

pre order

Cons:

salty fries

Review of Artist Point

In a word, Wow! This was our family's favorite meal of our 11 day trip. Because we stayed at two different resorts we were able to split our dining plan - deluxe for first 5 days and standard for remaining 6. During the deluxe portion of our stay we decided to try a few signature dining experiences that we either had never tried before (Artist Point & Citrico's) or hadn't been to in a long time (Le Cellier).

We went to Artist Point on Christmas Eve. This was our one "dress up" meal and we were all looking forward to it. We were not disappointed in any way.

We were seated right at our reservation time. We had a wonderful server and a manager visited our table as well. We never felt rushed but our food arrived pretty quickly too which I think is a good combination.

I had the smoked mushroom soup which was incredible. And followed it up with the salmon as my entrée. Again, incredible. My family ordered filets and veal as their entrees.

Our server was very friendly and helpful with menu selections. When a manager visited us he was happy to tell us about the chef's favorite selections as well as the history of the restaurant itself without ever feeling intrusive.

It was just a great experience. We all agreed this was far and away our favorite meal of our trip. Le Cellier was our next favorite but honestly, we felt Artist Point was in a league of it's own. The bill would have been north of $400 before tip...so glad were able to go!

Pros:

atmosphere, service, food

Cons:

absolutely nothing!

Review of 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch/Dinner

This is one of our favorites. We try to go every trip and we've never had a bad meal here. Some of the servers enjoy their roles while others are low key. This particular visit our server really didn't play the part too much. It's a little disappointing when that happens especially when you see other servers being silly with their customers - but our server was pleasant enough. Maybe she was new, maybe she was just not in the mood.

After we checked in we found a seat in the waiting area (which is often difficult) and were surprised when we were called right at our reservation time! We had checked in about 15 minutes early. In our experience going to 50's we often wait 10, 15 minutes after our reservation time. Sometimes even longer.

The food never disappoints. My favorite is the sampler - fried chicken, pot roast and meatloaf. It is so good! I have decided the fried chicken is my favorite of the three. My family ordered the chicken Caesar salads and the chicken pot pie. Every one of us was extremely happy with our food.

I have to mention the dessert as well - chocolate peanut butter cake. Holy cow was it incredible!

Great meal, great fun as always at 50s!

Pros:

atmosphere, seated quickly, food was great

Review of Le Cellier Lunch/Dinner

We haven't been to Le Cellier in several years. But since we sprang for the deluxe dining plan we wanted to go back.

We all agreed this was our second favorite meal of our trip topped only by Artist Point a couple nights earlier. I love the cheddar beer soup but opted to try the lobster and crab app instead. Good choice! It was extraordinary. My wife got the soup so best of both worlds - she shared some with me.

All four of us ordered filet and as I've said every single time we've been to Le Cellier - that was the best steak I've ever had. No exaggeration, they really do make an incredible steak. Service was excellent. Overall, we were so happy to be able to visit Le Cellier again!

food was great

Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

We had lunch at Sci-Fi on December 28. It's such a fun experience. We've been many times and will continue to visit. We love watching the old science fiction clips as well as the old style "commercial breaks". I do agree with other posts that I've seen that it would be nice if the loop lasted a little longer - towards the end we always seem to begin seeing stuff for the second time.

The food itself was pretty good. I was disappointed they no longer have the picnic burger but I tried the Rueben and it was real good. Everyone else had burgers and enjoyed them as well. There's something about Sci-Fi's milkshakes - they're definitely a favorite!

Our server was excellent and we never waited long for anything. Happy to recommend Sci-Fi!

atmosphere, food, service

Review of Saratoga Springs Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

Stayed 1/22-24 in a studio in The Springs buying discounted points for a quiet getaway. Room definately has a feel of a deluxe as moderates are tending to show their age. Queen bed of good quality. Maybe the nature of a dvc resort but everyone from staff to guests are quieter which is nice after years of enjoying the disney atmosphere. Grounds very nice even in the winter. Activity center a nice addition.

Pros:

Well maintained. Tranquil

Review of California Grill - Brunch at the Top

"No, I don't recommend this brunch. It was horrible in every way, so you shouldn't even think about going there."

I'd like to say that so it would be easier for me to get reservations, but I can't. This was one of our favorite meals on our trip. The sunny, pleasant room, the food, service, music, ambiance, and endless mimosas, were incredible and I couldn't recommend this brunch any more than I do. We loved every second of it, and we were lucky enough that it lasted 2 hours (but it could be much shorter if you desire).

You can read the menu to see all they offer, so I won't bore you with food details, just trust me that everything offered was abundant and delicious. I'm fairly picky about restaurant meals, so if you knew me, you'd maybe be surprised that I rave about this brunch.

We paid for it with 2 dining credits on our deluxe plan, and would do it all again on every trip.

Pros:

Food, Ambiance, View

Cons:

Expensive (but worth it)

Review of Teppan Edo - Japan

We ate here for a quick full service meal on our plan. We didn't want to take up too much time from our evening at Epcot. That said, that's exactly what we got.

If you're looking for a special meal, or a romantic meal, look elsewhere. The food is ok, about the same as any Japanese restaurant, so you can maybe do better around your home in terms of a special meal. Service was fine, but our chef was so obviously new that I felt bad for him when everyone from our table was watching the show at the next table. He was sweet and gracious throughout. The meals were a few dollars more than they'd be off-Disney. While that's expected, it's also a good reason to just pass on this during your trip to Disney.

I have nothing against this restaurant, but you can eat at a restaurant like this whenever you want. Next time I'll choose somewhere more unique.

Pros:

Fast Meal

Cons:

Loud and Rushed

I don't know about the reviews that say the food isn't as good as it was previously, since our food was as wonderful as it has always been.

Our server was the best of our trip, gracious, pleasant, efficient, and thoughtful (she brought my drink outside to me unrequested because she thought I would probably want it). I hate when servers approach the table talking, interrupting conversation, and she never did this. Our meal was perfectly timed and orchestrated.

My only, fairly minor, complaint is the restaurant not enforcing its own rules of attire. This is a fancy restaurant, that people pay a lot of money for and plan far in advance for reservations to eat here. There should never be people at the next table in shorts, t-shirts, flipflops and mouse ears (yes, all 7 people). They should be required either change their dress, or be put in a separate room with all the other people who don't want to follow the rules.

Even so, we loved it. This dinner, along with their brunch, were by far the best meal experiences of our trip.

Pros:

As Wonderful As You've Heard

Cons:

People Not Dressing As Required

Review of Trail's End Restaurant

We had not been to Trail's End in several years. Our last visit was only okay but we decided to give it another try. Our reservation was for New Year's Eve and we thought it would be fun to visit Ft. Wilderness on NYE (and it was!)

We waited about 10-15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated despite arriving well ahead of time. And it really is tight inside. The aisles are all fairly narrow and you always need to be careful walking - especially with a plate of food!

Okay, that's it for the negatives. The service was great and the food was much better than we remembered. My favorite was the chili - it was thick, full of flavor and a little spicy. But everything I put on my plate was good. Everyone enjoyed the meal and we definitely won't wait as long to be back.

And I must mention the pumpkin pie moonshine! One of the best drinks I've ever had anywhere - not just at Disney! What a treat. Tasted great and boy, was it...effective!

After our meal, we walked around hoping to see some Christmas decorations - we've been to Ft. Wilderness at Christmas time before and enjoy looking at the crazy way people decorate their own little campers and campsites. But we were a little disappointed this year. I guess many people leave the campground prior to New Year's...?? There were a lot of people enjoying themselves though - dancing and having fun. There was a party at the beach area with music and games for the kids. Overall it was a fun night and I'm happy to recommend Trail's End.

Pros:

food was very good

Cons:

it's a little tight inside
