Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Dinner

It PAINS me to remove 1900 dinner from our 'must eat at list'. In just four short years this place droppED' from 1 of our top 3 dining experiences to...not on the list at all and went from a 10 to a 4. Menu has gotten bland as did Cinderella and the Prince. The step-sisters were the hi-lite. They even took away the ice cream machine. OUCH! If you like to be rushED' and taste doesn't matter, then this place is for you. HOWEVER! Breakfast is a different story. That review coming soon.

This is our 4th trip to WDW since 2003 and Boma keeps getting better and better. We ate there twice during our 12 day trip. On July 7th our server was Maureen from NJ. She tiED' for 'Best Server' of our trip with Yvonne over at 'Be Our Guest'. Both nights were NOT crowdED' and we felt special. The selection of food variED' a little from the first to second meal. If you haven't triED' Boma yet...what are you waiting for? If dining reservations says it's bookED' and you're leaving Animal Kingdom, hop on the bus to the Lodge. They usually have plenty of seats savED' for walk-ins. Everything is labelED' with what the dishes are. If you're timid about trying something new, so were we back in 03', but with so much too choose from you're bound to like something. Just make sure to bring your camera. From the moment you enter the Lodge there are a lot of Kodak spots. Tasting is believing. We haven't been disappointED' yet. Six dinners and counting!!

Had an amazing stay at Saratoga Springs. We've stayed there many times actually. Paid $162 using www.saratooga.com, which specializes in arranging DVC rentals for Saratoga Springs. Amazing pricing.

This used to be one of our favorite places to eat, but not after our last visit. Our waiter, Smokin Sam, was anything but on fire, he was pretty slow.
The Dessert Sampler Platter has been removed from the "all you care to enjoy" platter and replaced with a salad. This was very disappointing. The salad was just OK but dessert is always better.
We asked why? He said it was because they were wasting dessert because so many people would ask for and then not eat them.
Now about the portions. We ordered Pulled Pork, Chicken and Beef Strip Loin. The pulled pork portion would have been about half of what one person would get at any real BBQ restaurant. The Chicken must have been a baby because the 2 pieces we got were very small, and we got 1 piece of beef. This is what we got for 2, not so small adults. I know we got mashed potatoes, corn and beans but we go there to eat BBQ. I also know we can order more, which we did but those portions of sausage, ribs and fish were not any better.
And did I mention how slow our waiter was? So more than an hour later when we left, we still felt hungry and disappointed that we weren't getting dessert unless we wanted to pay for it.
We will not be going back.

We have stayed at the cabins 2 times. Both times it was 4 Adults (me, hubby, grown son & daughter). We have visited Ft. Wilderness in both the Fall (September 2006) and the prime-time summer (June 2009). We'll be back for a third visit in a couple months with 5 adults (we added a son-in-law).
We LOVE the cabins. The peace and quiet, the space, the boats to the Magic Kingdom, the Trading Post...everything. The waits for the campground buses never seem very long--although there was one night trying to get home from Epcot in June during a storm that was NOT fun, we contemplated hiring a cab, but the bus showed up, filled up, and got us back to the camp ground.
Having 2 separate living spaces gives hubby and I space away from "the kids" and lets them stay up late if they want. I'm the early bird of the crowd so I can make my coffee and sit on the deck and enjoy the quiet mornings without waking everyone else up or changing out of my pjs.
Like all Disney resorts, your park purchases can be delivered to the resort. At the camp ground you have to go to the Trading Post to pick your packages up...but we love visiting the Trading Post. Usually, my husband drives us to the trading post and waits in the car while my daughter and I pick up our packages. Parking is limited and they don't encourage you to drive around the resort.
We have never had a problem with mousekeeping, check in has always been a breeze, and, although it would be fun, I have never thought I HAD to have a golf cart.
TL:DR WE LOVE THE CABINS : )

We try to eat here every chance we get. We had a party of 13 at 5:00 dinner and we are so lucky we called months in advance because I tried to change the time, and nothing was open for us! We went with another family who have a few members who are vegetarians. My family has a few who are allergic to peanuts, eggs, and poultry. There was so much food to choose from that it met everyones expectations. I don't think they have peanuts as a topping for a dessert anymore, but they do have reese's pieces. I have also loved the breakfast, but dinner is a great option, too.

I have come to WDW at least once to three times year for over 25 years and I have never had the chance to eat here. I wish it was open all year long! The food was good and there was plenty of seating. I think most everyone got the taco salad. The “fixins'†were in a separate area, but they were perfect for our salad. I did have to ask for ranch, that they didn't have, but did give me Caesar. Good enough, it was very good. My daughter ate the quesadillas and ate every bit of it.

I come here to Sci-Fi every time I come to WDW. I love the atmosphere, the lighting, the cute cars, but I am over it. I don't think I will ever be back. We waited, waited, and waited in line to get our reservation. Finally through that line we had to wait for our names to be called, which was not very long. Ordering was not bad, our drinks came out and were refilled on time, but our actual food took forever. We finally got our food and it was not worth the money. I got the Chicken Pasta. I could have done a better job for less than $24! Then, we had to wait for our checks. I just took the kids out (we had a party of 13) because they were done sitting for almost 2 hours. I used to enjoy this place, but like I said, I am over it!

We have eaten here every time we come to Animal Kingdom because we love the Duck with Anandapur Glaze and mushroom ravioli. But no more mushroom ravioli! My husband was very upset, but he got over it when he got the Seared Miso Salmon. My boys both got the Tempura Shrimp and my daughter basically ate cheeseburgers twice a day, every day (except at Mexico!) My boys and my brother are all allergic to peanuts and the chef came out to talk with us. That was very nice, it is so hard to explain to people that your child could die just by eating something that touched a peanut let alone eating a one. He knew how important this was.

Wow! I think I am just going to get the quick service meal plan from now on. I have never had a counter service experience in all my trips prior. The food here was delicious! I had the Empanadas de Queso. Probably the best thing on the menu. My husband and boys had the nachos, brother had Tacos de Carne, daughter had kids chicken tenders. Chips were good. We all got the Churritos for desert. They tasted like warm donuts! We did have to save those for later. I didn't know you could get cheese for an extra $.50, so I had to wait in line again because all the kids wanted that for their chips. The only downer is the seating. We had 13 people in our party. Luckily, we got there a little after 1:30 and it was thinning out, slowly. We just had to keep snatching tables and a few adults shared a seat. Wow! I think I am just going to get the quick service meal plan from now on. I have never had a counter service experience in all my trips prior.
