This Controversial EPCOT Restaurant Closes in ONE Month

EPCOT is full of some of our favorite dining options in the entirety of Disney World, and that’s especially true when there’s a festival going on.

However, not every single spot is a winner, partially because everyone’s taste buds and preferences are unique to them, but also because there are a few restaurants in EPCOT that aren’t up to par with others. One of those controversial restaurants is Coral Reef Restaurant, located right near The Seas with Nemo and Friends. This is your reminder that, starting in just one month, this restaurant will CLOSE for an undetermined amount of time.

Coral Reef is a restaurant that primarily serves up seafood, though there are other options on the menu for those who don’t eat fish, which is partially why it’s a bit strange that you’ve got views into SeaBase Aquarium while you eat. It’s super neat, and is an incredible atmosphere, but we understand the potential hesitation of eating fish…while looking at fish.

The restaurant will be closing on September 8th, though Disney hasn’t released exactly why. That’s not unusual, as Disney doesn’t always reveal why closures are happening. At this time, there’s no reopening date for the restaurant, other than it’ll be later in 2026.

It’s important to note that this means this restaurant won’t be available for the majority of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series during EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, which possibly means that Dining Packages may sell out sooner with one less restaurant available.
