EPCOT is one of our favorite Disney World parks because of all the great food options. But did you know that most of the stores in EPCOT sell prepackaged snacks, too?

When we were in the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion this week, we saw some new ice cream sandwiches straight from Japan that we had to try!
These Ice Cream Wafer Sandwiches are all $3.99 each at Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion. These come in vanilla, strawberry, matcha, and sweet potato flavors, so we had to try them all for this review!

The Vanilla Ice Cream Wafer Sandwich is vanilla ice cream coated in milk chocolate between two wafers. The vanilla ice cream was very mild and toned down. The chocolate coating was evenly distributed, with every bite having a nice chunk of chocolate. The wafer on this was very sturdy, and the sandwich held its structure well. We’d recommend the vanilla flavor to children and picky eaters.

The Strawberry Ice Cream Wafer Sandwich was fruity and refreshing. The strawberry flavor from the ice cream is very strong, and we didn’t get much of the wafer or white chocolate taste. The wafer of this was softer than the vanilla, with a soft and slightly chewy texture. We’d recommend this to strawberry and fruit fans.

The Matcha Ice Cream Wafer Sandwich is stuffed with matcha ice cream with a strong, earthy matcha flavor. The sweet chocolate coating balanced the earthy matcha, but the spread was inconsistent, with some bites having no chocolate at all. We’d only recommend this to die-hard matcha lovers because of the inconsistency.

The Sweet Potato Ice Cream Wafer Sandwich is sweet potato ice cream coated with chocolate in a wafer. Now, this jumpscared us when we opened it; This doesn’t look like the rest, because it’s shaped like an actual sweet potato! But while we got carried away with our photoshoot, it turned into soup! This melted so fast compared to the others, so bring napkins.

The sweet potato ice cream is earthy, similar to a plain, baked sweet potato. There was a small amount of chocolate coating inside, but the sweet potato flavor was so strong that we couldn’t taste it. The wafer was very chewy with zero crunch. We had to use our hands to pull it apart instead of getting a clean bite, which was very messy.

We had so much fun trying these new ice cream sandwiches. It was definitely a wild ride. Stop by Mitsukoshi Department Store to try them for yourself the next time you’re at EPCOT. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World food reviews!
